Play slowed down on about 5th hole so at the turn we replayed front nine because of slow play.

Going in the right direction
The course is beginning to see the end of the restoration project though the summer. Can't wait for the new greens to be opened. Restored fairways are looking good. Good work!

Good value
Reasonably priced. Nice layout and good greens. On a couple of par 3s, there was no Green, so it's better to skip those. Nice weather and pace of play. Would recommend ...

Wendell cc review 8/22/2023
I’ve played this course a lot over the past 30 years. I am pleased to see the course owners putting money into improvements; (flattening several greens is an improvement, top dressing w/aeration of all greens, concerted effort to improve thickness of fairway turf). These improvements are almost finished and turf is ready for play. All the greens have improved putting services now thanks to efforts of maintenance crew.

Greens in good shape
Besides the temporary par 3 greens…great course for the money.

The owners of Wendell Country club are really make some nice changes to the course. Two new greens will be ready in September. Tee boxes with good grass, greens were rolling well, trees removed to open up some holes on the back. This course will be a great place to play in Eastern Wake County.

Fixing the Par 3s
The Club is reworking a Par 3 on the front and one on the back that needed help. While the temporary greens are just that, a temporary inconvenience, the re-landscaped holes will give everyone a fair roll.
The fairways have recovered well, and the Master's pimento cheese sandwich on toast is fabulous! Don't miss it.

Greens
Greens are rolling better than B4 but two par 3 holes have temporary greens. Staff is really nice. Have done a lot of maintenance to the course over the last few months. Course will look really good going into the fall season.

Pace of Play is terrible
The pace of play is close to a 5 and a half hour round when it’s a very short course as well as no walkers.
The group in front denied us a chance to play through when we were only two in a group and they had four.
Temporary greens we were not made aware of before booking the tee time.
No course ranger to help the pace of play anywhere to be found.
Overall bad experience and do not recommend playing here.

Appreciate the effort
The owners are trying to improve the course conditions overall. Just know a couple of holes are still using temporary greens. Fairways are in good shape and tee boxes are much improved.
