About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Worth the drive
Excellent tee boxes, firm fairways filled with fun banks, firm but grippy greens. Staff was chill and out of the way. Everything flowed well and folks looked happy to work there.
Charged a No Show Incorrectly
Booked a round on GolfNow for 12:20. Arrived at the course and the 12:20 slot was blank but not reserved but my name was under the 2:20 slot. We played the blank 12:20 slot and then 3 days later I was charged a No-Show fee for that 2:20 slot. A miscommunication between the 2 systems should be the reason I get charged a No-Show.

First time playing. Course was in great shape, challenging to where you have to hit some golf shots , and we didn’t have to wait on a single tee box
Nice course and layout but…
The Neuse is a nice course. The staff is friendly and professional. This round was not as nice as past rounds mainly for one reason. My booked tee time was for 12:30. When I arrived at the course just before 12 noon it was packed to the point of having difficulty finding a parking spot. When I checked in the pro shop staff told me they had a tournament going on, hence the “nowhere to park “ dilema. The worst part was that my tee time was going to be pushed back at least half an hour. Not cool. They should have stated a tournament was ongoing so as not to waste my time. We were delayed about 35 minutes in teeing off. Pace of play was okay but not good. The course is in good shape. Greens had been vertucut recently and were hard. The fairways in good shape but the rough was extremely penal. I assume due to all the rain as of late. I was hard to locate your ball in the rough much less play it forward. Overall, with the exception of a delayed tee time and rough being too high it was a good outing. The course needs to do a much better job communicating what is going on when you book.

What a great experience until the 12th hole. Nice pace until 12 and then long waits at every hole A Marshall could have encouraged one group and the flow would have smoothed out. My last two hours on the course were so frustrating. Please use Marshall’s on busy days
