Solid value
Course remains in good shape. Only wet bunkers to deal with from rain the night before. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable round despite the heat.
What a fun course
First course in years I really liked. Really interesting holes. Many short par 4s with sharp doglegs where you can’t cut the corner forcing you to be a precision player and work the ball both ways. I love that and it’s something golf is lacking these days. Course is in better shape than any course in Raleigh. Good for you guys. I’m definitely making the drive again.
Great fun at a bargain price
I had not played this course since the 1990s. We had a threesome with an early tee time and had no problems checking in. The course is as fun as I remember it being. It was a little wet, so it was cart path only, so that added some steps, LOL. We had a great time and you can't beat the price. Fairways were green and greens were fast. The city and the staff have done a great job with this fun course.
5$
You charged me $5 to use the site. Next time don't ask me for a review. Go to the darn course yourself. I won't use you again
Poor customer experience
Walked up to club house and starter asked my tea time and told him. He then proceeded to bark orders at me that I will be paired up with a group who be pointed out. Neither of the two groups wanted to play together due to the fact that skill level was really different and I came to play with my son. I told other group we would tee off together and then came. Split once we get going. Starter then said heck no you will not split up and I will kick you off the course. I have played there off and on for years, son is part of a local highschool team that plays out there and have always had good experiences. Not the case this time, to the point we didn’t even play since starter continued to follow me into club house telling front desk we have a problem.
Nice First Visit
Never saw a starter or ranger, but play moved right along on a very crowded day. Greens were superb. Course cared for well. Staff very helpful.
City website stated no outside alcohol. That's fine. When I arrived I saw "No outside coolers." Plastic bags don't hold ice well on hot days, and the icemaker in the shop gave out. Also, didn't see any sugar free sports drinks. Hydration was an issue for me that day.
Certainly will return
Municipal Gem
What a treat for dirt cheap! Excellent greens - comparable to private courses I’ve played. Solid layout although not long from the tips! Worth a drive if within an hour of this place! Relatively easy walk! Due to low price anyone shows up to play so affects pace of play but oh so worth it!
Exceptional Public Course
Course was in fantastic shape and made for a great afternoon of golf.
Decent Country Track
Course was in excellent shape for what it was and considering the drought we've just gone thru. Greens were not fast but rolled true. As far as the layout, it's your typical flat back and forth routing especially on the front nine. Back nine has some water and a few interesting holes but it's a very forgiving basic public course. For $25 it's a good value but since it's an hour from me I probably won't return. Good course for seniors and higher handicappers.
Let it rain!
We got in 9 holes on a rain soaked Memorial Day and have to tell you the course really held up well to the rain. The staff worked hard to get us out to play. Really made for a great day of golf! By far my favorite muni to play in the area!
