better than I expected
first nine holes are simple not much things to say back nine s are more interesting.looks like easy to score but small green and some doglegs so harder than expect. greens are ok. tee box and most fairways are well maintained especially green side fairways are perfect.
Great course
Course was in excellent condition, weather was near perfect but was a little windy. The only problem we had was that we got behind a couple of groups of 5 which slowed the pace a bit. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent Course and Value
This course is as good as many private or semi-private courses. The fairways and greens are immaculately maintained. The price to play is outstanding. Fun course, the golfers move and it doesn't cost an arm plus a leg to play. Love this course .
Great course
This is a public course with the feel of a more expensive private course. The fairways were overseeded and played perfectly, the traps were well maintained and the entire property was spotless. My only recommendation would possibly be some netting between the driving range and #1. It is interesting looking for your first drive of the day among several dozen range balls but the course is well worth the drive to play.
Wilson's best keep secret
Great course and staff for your money, it can't be beat, if it rains this course is usually dry and it's usual got grass
Great course for the money
We played this course on a hot deal , drove out from Raleigh. Course was in really good shape, overseeded fairways and the greens rolled good. It took about 45 minutes to get here but would definitely do it again
Great experience
High quality course at acceptable price. Maintenance staff does a great job. Fairways are well maintained and so are greens. Fun place to golf. Club house staff always courteous and helpful.
We Will Golf Here Again!
We had a great golf adventure at Wedgewood. Going on a hot deal, we drove from Raleigh on a beautiful Sunday morning to play. Friendly staff greeted us at the desk and were very helpful. We teed off on time and the pace of play was good considering it was Sunday. The course was in good shape for March and we commented that it was great to play on green grass as spring was definitely here. We used a cart however when we come again, we will walk. The course is totally walkable. Great value, well maintained course and friendly staff.
Slow Play, Great Course.
Course was in great shape. Much more enjoyable than other public courses in the area. Pace of play was horrible. A bunch of groups got caught up on a the back 9 due to a 5-some being allowed. Things were going fine until everyone caught this group.
Good course
Stopped to play a round while on the way to FL, Nice layout, good variety of holes, one of the easier courses, course is in good condition.
Enjoyed the day
Really enjoyed the day. Considering we played this course in February, we found course to be in pretty good shape.
Great Day to play Golf
Other than the wind everything was awesome. The greeting from the staff as soon as we walked in the door was the beginning of our day. The fairways were as fairways were green as could be and well maintained. The greens were true and smooth. I would definitely recommend this course and will be back.

Great time was had. Challenging holes in the fact that there were a lot of blind shots, especially on the back nine.
Just do it...
Course requires a ride for all but the locals to get to it because its not near other major cities but overall its well worth the time. Greens spectacular on this day...best I've seen all summer and most courses in NC are suffering from the heat wave (my home course shut down a week then went to temp greens a month ago) but not here. It seems they should write a book on how to tend greens in a heat wave because they have it right.
Other than that...tough holes scattered among some almost drive-able par 4's make it just right. I am currently a 10 HC . I started slow but ended up with a 78 due to a hot putter and driver,It kept my attention until I walked off 18 and exhaled in relief.
Hit them straight then knock them in...
Great Track, well kept, Dog's name is Bogey at the front door.
Great place to play for the money. Nice layout, wonderful location right down the road from some of the eastern NC BBQ meccas. Awesome greens!! A challenge but also fun to play.
Aeration Aggravation
Tee box and fairways were excellent , but the greens had just been aerated and were covered in sand. Would have been nice to know in advance. Also, for the 1st 7 holes, they had begun aeration on the fringe areas making it very annoying. The workers were not quiet and apparently had no concept of golf etiquette. From talking, including cursing while I was playing with my 14 & 16 year old sons, they were unprofessional and down right rude. I have played here many times but will think twice before going back.
My New Home Course
Brand new to North Carolina and coming off knee replacement surgery, this is the first course I've played in the area and I really enjoyed it. I am not a GOLFER, I am a golfer. I do it for fun, exercise, and relaxation. Being my first time out since the surgery, I didn't play my best, but the round was still enjoyable due to the "playableness" of the course, its condition, and the friendliness of the staff and people I met and played with. This place is as well maintained as any public course I've ever played. By all means, stop by, play a ( inexpensive ) round, and enjoy yourself. Be sure to drink a lot of water and plan on sweating some in the North Carolina sun!
This course has character
We really enjoyed our round. The course was in good shape and was well worth our drive there. I think you will enjoy too, give it a try!
