Bad time for greens
Very good public course Have played many times and know that this time of year the greens won't be the best Many have resodded areas Still very playable and fun
Hot Deal on a Hot Day
Great layout, pace of play was consistent until 17 and we were backed up for about 7 minutes.
Practice putting greens are fast. The fairways were coming in, some repair work on a few greens that are clearly marked GUR with white paint. I think it rained very heavily the previous week and they had some ponding going on that hurt the fairways. Normally this place is lush and plush.
Nice coursd
Very nice course for this time of year, a little off the beaten track. The fairways had nice turf , the greens were in good shape but slow. I really enjoyed my day and would like to play it again. This is not what I call a challenging course layout but a fun course.
"A Beautiful Course in the Carolinas"
Wedgewood Golf Course in Wilson NC is a beautiful track that is very fun to play.
Some of the holes were a bit long for my age, but I fared pretty well. We played on a Thursday morning. There was a fivesome ahead of us. They could have let us through, but ahead of them were four-somes and three-somes.
My only real criticism is that the course didn't have much of a snack bar. We just got off an over-night flight and needed sustenance.
The Course Is Good, Just Slow Pace of Play.
The course was in great shape. The pace of play was very slow, had to wait 5-10 before we could even tee off on almost every hole. The staff could be friendlier they kind of act like they don’t want you to play the course sometimes. The prices on their website were different than what they actually were. The website said it was $20 to play with cart, but when we walked into the pro shop there was a note on the door saying the prices have changed to $25. I probably will play again, but it won’t be my first choice.
Very well kept course
I am very pleased with this course. The only downfall was the pace of play. We had to literally stop and wait for 10 minutes or more almost the whole time due to a 5 person group
Great course and priced right
I play here at least 2-4 times a month. Fairways and greens in great shape. Costs around 20$ riding. New golf carts to boot. I play a lot of different courses around wayne ,johnston co. This one is taken care of better than most.
Very nice course even though it’s short will play again.
Don't pass on it.
This course is fantastic for the money! The staff is nice, they have beer, and pretty good food. The course it's self it's pretty and challenging for beginners like my self. The back nine is pretty tight so prepare for other golfers to be in the fairway you're playing. The greens are a bit inconsistent but it's all good and fun to yell at. I don't like the golf carts because they're gas powered and a little noisy but they're fun to drive because they have a little more power. Overall I would highly recommend Wendell Country Club especially during the week. We played once for $13 a piece.
Beautiful condition
Beautiful condition for the time of year, staff at the clubhouse could learn to smile but the ranger was friendly enough.
The course is maintained beautifully - great staff!
Third time to play here - I found the course provides splendid challenges for an average level golfer, while promoting opportunity for developing one's skills! Well worth the trip from Greenville - I look forward to returning for many more rounds.
Nice course but slow pace
Slow pace of play, but a great course for an amazing price. The course offers no on-course beverage service so make sure to sneak a few in your bag.
Flatlands
Interesting layout. Very flat front nine. Back nine was like a different course and more interesting.
Mostly wide open holes.
