About
Yadkin Country Club is a par-72 championship golf course that is one of the area's best kept secrets. It offers all the facets of Southern golf without the crowds. The Yadkin Valley stretches east from the Blue Ridge Mountains across the rolling hills of the North Carolina Piedmont. Like many golf courses in the area, Yadkin is routed up and down rolling terrain and through mature trees. The layout is challenging with an interesting mix of holes, none of which run parallel to each other. The par 3s are long and there are a few reachable par 5s. The par 4s will make you think, requiring thoughtful drives and approaches. Strategically placed bunkers and mounding lurk throughout and water hazards come into play on a few holes. Yadkin Country Club is a tough but fair layout that emphasizes strategy over strength.

Great Greens, bad everything else
The greens are the outstanding feature of the course. The rest of the course was fair to poor. The cart paths were too broken up to ride on. Even though we were at the height of spring greenery, the fairways had multiple bare patches. Because of the bare fairways you were forced to hit to where the ball wouldn't roll off into the rough instead of where you wanted to land it for a good approach shot. Even for the price the course wasn't worth it. We won't be back.
like the layout. greens are usually very good but had been punched recently.there was no warning of that by GN or the course.disappointing! not a lot of improvement by new owners from last year. no grass on fairways. may be better later in the summer when bermuda comes out
Great value
Great course for the low price. No one in front or behind us in a weekday morning. Was able to really learn and take a couple shots off each. Course is in okay shape, greens are very very nice but there were some muddy root spots on the fairway. The cart path is rough, that’s the only true downfall I felt. Really bumpy. I would definitely Play again!
Nice value
Nice course that makes you focus on tree lined holes. Greens were punched but rolled really well for punched greens. Some rough spots around the edges and in some fairways but the greens are usually good. Always worth it to play YCC.
The course.
The course is in okay condition, but where this course really shines is on their putting greens. They roll very pure and check well. Overall the course is fun and great for the money.
Good Value
Great value for what we paid. Bent grass greens were great in mid March. I’d be hesitant but to come in the hot months.
Great course friendly staff great value.
Really fun course to play. Condition was great considering it’s the middle of winter. Can’t wait to see what this spring brings.
Coming Back
When I play with a beginner, I look for courses that offer quality, decent pace of play and that are economical. Our first trip to Yadkin did not disappoint.
The long wait line to tee off had me a little worried until the staff did what every good staff does, find a solution. With it being early morning, they split the line in half sending us and a couple others off #10. After that, pace of play was as quick as we wanted it to be and afforded a few teaching moments along the way.
The course was in good shape, a few bad patches due to the lack of rain in the area for weeks, but overall really good. Personally I found a couple of holes to be "not very well thought out" #4 and #12, but I imagine if I played a few rounds here, it wouldn't be such a big deal. The red sand bunkers were different and we found some to be fluffy and some rock hard which added to the variety.
As for my wife who's a beginner, she loved it. For her there was plenty of room to hit the occasional bad shot and she was rewarded when making a nice shot, particularly off the tee. With the pace of play, we were able to have a few teaching moments that can't be replicated at the range, which didn't slow anyone down. She's looking forward to going back and we'll make the 90 minute drive gladly.
My only complaint is that it was hard to find course yardage markers on some holes. A small thing that wouldn't have mattered if we had brought our rangefinder.
Better every time
The YCC crew have done a great job on the course. Third time playing there this fall about a month a part and has been better every time. Greens roll great! Lots of areas being sodded and rehabbe. Played the ball down with no issues, Guy who left 1 star must have played bad or works for the competition.
Excellent value
The course has a couple “goofy” holes,, and some bare spots around the cart paths, but it was fun and a challenge to play.
Great value
Very friendly staff, for the money course was very nice. Greens roll true and with good pace. Really exceeded my expectation for a course in that location. Hope to play at Yadkin Country Club more in the future.
New management team hard at work
5 stars. Great experience. Sarah was very helpful with questions and friendly at the shop. You can see the work going into the course and the greens were rolled great. Several areas sodded that had been lacking in the past. They have a ways to go but even on the holes with a few bad spots in the fairway, the ball rolls thru to the grass. Played the ball down all day except for a couple of shots near cart paths. Excellent value, and from the back tees quite challenging. Look forward to even better conditions
