Brigantine Golf Links
About
The public, 18-hole golf course at Brigantine Golf Links is not only beautiful scenery and a great game it is also a National Audubon Sanctuary. Its layout has roots in Scottish golfing tradition. The golf course utilizes the natural environment featuring a softly rolling terrain and marshes as well as gorgeous bay views.
Like traditional Scottish Links courses, Brigantine is marked by nearly tree-less greens and the type of shot to take often depends on the wind. There are powerful sea breezes that affect the shots and bunkers that make for an interesting game. The smooth, rolling greens encourage a bump-and-run strategy. The scenic course's location close to the Atlantic City boardwalk and the challenging, but fun game it offers make it popular among tourists and locals of all skill levels.

Bring Bug Spray
Course has a neat layout and very pretty greens but that's about all it has going for it. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough were all in awful shape. The course doesn't drain well so it was cart path only the entire round for us which was quite annoying. On the SECOND hole the ranger came up to us and told us to pick up the pace of play because they had a logjam behind us. We were all experienced golfers playing at a good speed. We were so annoyed considering we were there 30 minutes before our tee time and the logjam was clearly the course's fault. We only saw 2 coolers to refill water on the entire course and one of them was empty. The green heads are nasty and will harass you your entire round; bug spray is a must. If you're looking to play a links course in the Atlantic City area McCullough's in Egg Harbor Township is a much better choice. They are similarly priced and McCullough's is in much better condition--actually giving you the feeling like you are on a nice country club like course.
Great Staff
Played this course twice in 2 days. Did not know where to hit it 1st day b/c was not clear what direction it was going.
Lowered score 8 shots next round. Conditions good with quick greens.
Staff in Proshop was great and nice bartenders / kitchen staff.
Would play again.
Course needs TLC
Course looked tired and under maintained. No visual difference between the fairway and the rough. Lost 3 balls in the rough among the clover. The best part of the course were the greens; they weren't fast but they rolled true.
Country Club Prices
Public course with country club prices not working for me.
Heat variety
The course is in great shape. Lot of hazards if u get
Out of bounds
Look elsewhere
Booked three foursomes 2 weeks in advance through their website. The staff was very unfriendly in pro shop. We were down the shore on vacation and were rushed to the tee box because they had an outing booked right after us. We were all on time. Told them one golfer was unable to get there due to a family emergency, they said we would probably get charged by golf now because we booked through them even though we went through brigitine's web site. One guy paid for two players by accident, asked for a refund and was told they couldn't because it was a credit card transaction even though half of the players paid with cash. Was given a rain check that expires at the end of the year to a golf course 80 miles from where the golfers live. Bottom line we didn't feel like they appreciated our business and I would look to play elsewhere down the shore if you have the choice. Bring bug spray because the green head flys were vicious when were there.
Fun at the beach
Our threesome had a great time. The course was in great shape and very scenic. Hitting the straight ball is key to play.
Afternoon at Brigintine
I had not played this course in a couple of years but found it to be in pretty good shape. My partner whom I was paired was a very nice gentleman and knew the course well. It was a very nice experience on a windy day and I would play it again. I also thought it was a good value for the money paid.
Brigantine is a nice friendly course. Course conditions were good considering they just had several days of heavy rain. It was extremely wet (cart path only) and their maintenance crews are probably behind schedule. There were definitely numerous areas that can't be mowed for some time. The greens were in good shape. I get to Atlantic City once a year and always enjoy my round at Brigantine Links.
Nice course near A.C.
I have played this course three times and this is the first time it was not windy and the course was still a challenge for a high handicap like me.The greens were nice and the rouge was high but patchy. Pace of play was great, walked up to the tee and hit the ball! Overall a fun day.
Who's in charge of course maintenence??
Always like the layout & diversity of this original links course used by Ted Ray to practice on before the Open Championship. Been playing here for 25 years. The course conditions are just not up to par even for muni.
I have played tourneys here and 3-4 years ago this track was in excellent condition. Now ,not so much. Mention, greens were slow but in fairly good condition. Bunkers water filled, unmaintained with minimal sand, fairways, ugh! tee boxes bad. We are approaching peak season at the Jersey shore and they will be attempting to charge premium dollar to play here, they just won't be getting my $$ unless conditions improve!
Only Local Course, But Better Options w/in 30 Minutes
Interesting layout and friendly staff. But course is not well maintained. It's the only course in Brigantine, so it will do if you're staying in the area and don't want to drive. However, if you are staying elsewhere in the Atlantic City or Egg Harbor area near the shore or the AC Airport, there are much better options available for either the same price or less...and less than 30 min drive.
