Chardon Lakes Golf Course
About
Chardon Lakes Golf Course opened as a nine-hole course in 1931. The original layout was designed by Bert Way, the same creative mind behind two of the popular golf courses in Ohio: Firestone North in Akron and Mayfield C.C. in Lyndhurst. The second nine was added in 1963. The golf course has a traditional layout with challenges that have withstood the test of the time. It has hosted several qualifiers for the Cleveland Open, most recently in 2001. Many famous players have tested their luck on the golf course, including Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, whose score of 67 from the back tees is still the course record. Mature trees line Chardon Lakes Golf Course's fairways and there are more than 40 bunkers strategically placed along the large, undulating greens. There are also water hazards on 11 holes.

Grounds crews were still out at 1:00 with noisy blowers
A 4 hr round felt like 6 Waiting on every shot
Need rangers to get the seniors moving
Or get the mix of 4 some and pairs right
Not the first time this happened

Awesome course.... very challenging..... great shape
The course is in great condition.... very challenging..... some very tough Holes.....the staff was very friendly...and the girl for food service is pretty and was wonderful.....she had a cheeseburger with bacon waiting for me when I finished the front side.... just a call on the ninth tee...... definitely a course to play if you enjoy a challenge..... few tight holes.... greens are pure but don't break as much as you see..... usually...lol

Always a pleasure
Wonderful layout that challenges you with every stick in your bag. Greens were in excellent condition, not exceptionally fast yet not slow either. Course conditioning was good, though fairways were reasonably tightly mowed, not a lot of bounce on drives (though we did play while dew was still on the course, not on the greens). Friendly staff.
We played 18 in a cart in 2 hours and 50 minutes and two twosomes a head of us were like rabbits. Nice way to play the game.

Nice track
Here visiting from California. Got great deal on Golf now. Course was in very good condition. Greens were fairly fast and rolled well. Very fun layout that will test your game. For bigger hitters, from the silver tees, driver will not be an option on several holes. But still will test your layup. Recommended. Played in 4 hrs 30 minutes as it was full. Not sure if this is always the case but my guess is yes as people were often looking for their balls

Nice course tough greens
This course is challenging with difficult greens. The bunkers need work but overall this course is above average.

Great layout, greens and pace of play
Unfortunately, due to a pretty good downpour of rain the evening prior to my round the course was very, very wet. Bunkers were swimming pools and low spots of elevation had casual water.
But, staff was good, greens were well manicured and we got done in less than 4 hours

Challenging layout
Greens are tough. Lots of slope and accuracies a must. Fairways are well maintained and drained
Finishing 3 holes require stamina at the end of your round!!!

Terrific Course
First time we played Chardon Lakes and really enjoyed it. The layout was challenging and the course conditions were excellent. Staff was very friendly. Good value for the price. Will definitely return.

BUNKERS NEED ADDRESSED
Ive played here quite a bit over the years and course in generally in good shape only issue i had was the bunkers. Probably 70% of the traps have little to no sand in them. Staff was great and greens were fast. Id play again but they need to address the bunker issue.

BUNKERS NEED ADDRESSED
I have played here quite a bit the last couple of years and course is always in pretty good shape. My main concern is the sand traps, majority of them are dirt and need sand bad.I believe its hole #5 the traps on side of green are difficult to get of as there is hardly any sand in them mostly dirt. Other than that it is a good course.Staff is friendly and pace of play is good.

All day rain day before. Regardless greens still played fast. Great layout. A must play course in northeast Ohio.
