About
Chardon Lakes Golf Course opened as a nine-hole course in 1931. The original layout was designed by Bert Way, the same creative mind behind two of the popular golf courses in Ohio: Firestone North in Akron and Mayfield C.C. in Lyndhurst. The second nine was added in 1963. The golf course has a traditional layout with challenges that have withstood the test of the time. It has hosted several qualifiers for the Cleveland Open, most recently in 2001. Many famous players have tested their luck on the golf course, including Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, whose score of 67 from the back tees is still the course record. Mature trees line Chardon Lakes Golf Course's fairways and there are more than 40 bunkers strategically placed along the large, undulating greens. There are also water hazards on 11 holes.

Lost a TON of Golf Balls
The course layout was great, the greens were great, but……I had lost a Ton of balls on this course!! The balls when rolled or hit into the rough right next to the fairways were pretty much impossible to find!! Very frustrating and costly in Golf balls.
Challenging Course
Course is in great shape. Greens a little slow and never level.

Course was in great condition this late in the year.
Perfect Conditions
Greens were awesome (unlike most courses, players here actually fix their ball marks). Challenging course that is tailorable to all skill levels. Beautiful time of year to play with trees changing color.

Great course
Best greens I’ve played in on in 4-6 weeks, course was in very good condition. I’m disabled and the Club house are not very accommodating.

Great Course
This is a great course. Pace of play both times I’ve played are brutally slow. Tough putting because the greens are hilly but definitely a fun challenge.

Nice property
Always fun to play. Challenging, but fair. They work well to keep course in nice shape all season. Gorgeous in the fall with seasonal change.

Great course!
I can't believe I haven't played here before living only 40 minutes from it. Great condition, fairways and greens very nice!! Nice layout. But I really didn't see many "lakes". Mostly bunkers. Will be back!!

Pretty nice course but slightly overpriced
The staff were very friendly and they have a nice club house but probably have room for more product sales.
The course is challenging and you will need your whole bag.
