Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

Not worth it
I’ll start at the tee boxes grass was so high I was getting blades between my teed up ball and my club head, fairways played like first cut of rough and greens were as long as fairways should be, very very slow greens holes had Destroyed lips. Also there were fivesomes on the course at least 3 that I counted over my 5 hour 45 min round of golf
Jersey Shore Best Course
This is our go to course down the shore. Course is always in great shape and greens always run true. Price has gone up a little over the years and 100+ is the rate in the area during this time but you can still find sub 90 days here and there. Staff is always friendly and pace of play has never been an issue. My only problem is the Par 3 eight at 103 yards over water that you cant be short (obviously water) or long, downhill into trees. Not that the hole is bad, its not at all. I just dont have the 100 yard club in my game its my bugaboo. Push it back to 115 and help me out Ron. Keep up the good work guys, truly one of the best around
Wet but playable
I played an early Monday morning round in a threesome.
Lots and lots of heavy rain the days before we arrived made the course soggy in places and we were fortunate that the 90 degree rule was in force and we weren’t restricted to the cart path.
On the par 4 and 5’s I was accurate and 200 to 220 off the tee on all but two holes so that’s the basis for my comments. The front 9 has two short par 4’s which should present birdie opportunities. The second of these is the seventh hole which has a landing area beyond the bunker that you really can’t see from the tee and makes the yardage a little tricky.
There is water in play on 10 holes but only the 10th and 15th really were a factor from the white tees on the second shot for me because I hadn’t hit
good tee shots in those holes.
The big bunker on 14 looks intimidating and without a long drive it will be hard to avoid it. The sand isn’t deep so you should be able to play out of it easily unless you’re up against the edges or the grass mounds in the bunker.
I really enjoyed my round despite the wet conditions.
Another quality golf course by Ron Jaworski
Fun course to play. Nice layout, not too difficult. Greens were shaggy and sandy from top dressing still obvious. There has been a lot of rain lately and this is the first time I’ve seen the greens that slow. Must be the weather. Tee boxes and fairways were good to very good.
I play here a few times a year and enjoy it. Clubhouse nice with shower facilities. The bar / restaurant had very good food for a fair price. Great place to eat. Outdoor seating available.
All the employees were pleasant throughout the day.
Thank you.
Blue Heron Pines
Very nice day. Course nice and played well. Played with two very nice guys who joined us. Pace of play very good/
Fast Play....Great Food
Enjoy a well maintained course and be sure to stay for some fabulous food at one of the friendliest clubs around.
Bunker issues
The course was in great shape except for the bunkers, they need to make improvements here. Very little sand, mostly packed dirt and stones. Extremely tough to play from.
Solid value and a great staff
This is a regular stop during the summer at the Jersey shore. Course is fair and always in good shape.
The staff is professional and also accomodating.
I play here about 6 rounds a year and it is by far a superior value in the Atlantic City area.
Great
Overall a phenomenal course. Played it over 50 times. Course is always in above average condition but the staff is always great. From the cart guys to the starter to the bartenders and Cart girls. Always look forward to playing there. Gary.... Employee of the Year
Great value , great staff & great conditions
Quality layout with superb putting surfaces that will only get quicker in the coming month.
Some very memorable holes such as 9, 14 & 15.
Overall for a GolfNow rate of $53 was absolute value for money
Blue Heron Pines
Rangers were not very aggressive in monitoring pace of play. Had two very slow foursomes in front of us and no attempt made to speed them up. Greens were very rough and uneven, albeit weather has been terrible for grass growing.
