Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

Greens
Could not get over how slow the greens where.. no reason they should be slow with good weather and plentt of rain?
Ron jawirski
Course was in great shape. Greens little slow but had rained night before
Golfer friendly track
Played here years ago and it was average.
Things now are much better. Extremely friendly
staff who are committed to providing a good golf experience.
I played alone and all groups ahead of me graciously encouraged me to "play through"
Greens and fairways are well maintained . Thoroughly satisfying.I will return
Nice course, slow play
5 hour round on a weekday. However, the course is in good shape and well designed. The staff is nice but did not move people along.
Blue Heron Pines GC
Completed a Round with (2) Other Gentlemen in 4 Hours and 15 Minutes with a couple of waits for the foursome in front but Never a problem and the Ranger made sure of it. Overall Course was in Very Good Condition, Greens were nice, a bit slow for my taste (say about a 10) but very lush and smooth. Bunkers were okay. Staff was friendly. I would recommend to a friend and look forward to playing it again.
Great. course and fun to play.
It been a number of years since I last played the course. The course was well maintained, challenging and fun to play. I plan to play the course again. I would definitely recommend the course to my friends. I did not have the opportunity to use the clubhouse but it look very inviting. Maybe next time.
Decent course
Second time playing here. I liked it better the second time. The first hole is very short. It does wind through a community so there are homes along the course. Greens were in really good shape. Traps were in pretty good shape too. Pace was very good. We were able to get done in 4 hrs 15 min. I had to wait around at the bag drop before anyone came up and asked what my time was. Overall it's a decent course to play.
Its ok
Nothing special, but definitely worth it with a hot deal
Solid jaws course
The most challenging of the Jaws courses. Great shape, friendly staff, and overall good experience.
Nice golf course
Beautiful warm 77 degree day, no bugs. Was in good shape. Greens a little rough due to early in the season.
Nice bar to finish up in and watch ESPN.
Great course slow play
Nice course greens a little slow. Didn't like the fact they let a 5 sum out in front of us.
May Golf at Blue Heron
Course has something for all skill levels. Lots of sand and water. Yardage well marked. Large greens and rolled true. Due to spring, greens a little slow. Windy day so some holes were more difficult. On course beverages are expensive. 24$ six pack??? Did not buy.
Great course for everyone
Everything about this course is great. The conditions were really good for this time of year and the clubhouse/bar area are awesome. They have an excellent food and beer selection. The only issue I have with the course is, to me at least, the white tees definitely seem closer than normal white tees and the blue tees play like white tees on other courses. I'm sure the handicap adjust accordingly with the slope rating, but it's good to know before you start your round.
suprise
I've been using golf now for years and most of the time it s been a good experience. booked a hot deal and when my friend and I arrived at the course we were informed that there was a scramble going on and we would be about 45 minutes late getting off. the staff was helpful blending us into the course on hole number 8 and we were only about 30 minutes late wold have been nice to know as we would have chosen another course. just wanted to vent, thanks Mario medoro
Really enjoyed this course
First time playing here. Everyone that worked there seemed to love working there, and it showed. Just an awesome environment.
The course was fun, but not the most challenging course in the area. The fast greens were its defense more than anything else. I would say you are always right next to some houses, although I rarely felt concerned about my tee shots hitting them.
Course is very well maintained (especially for this time of year) and is fun to play and the people are super nice. The only negative I'd point out is that they could use new mats at the driving range (probably not a big deal when the grass area opens).
Great Coarse
Just want to start off by saying kudos to the blue heron staff and grounds crew. Golfed on Sunday november 16 and the coarse was in excellent shape. Being that this is the season for NJ when all the leaves are falling and littering most coarses fairways, blue heron did a great job of keeping the fairways clear. Tee box, fairways, and greens in optimal condition for this time of year. Great price for such a nice coarse. Will be going back in future.
Great place to play if you get a good deal
I played 18 holes on a Sunday morning and all in all I was very pleased. The numerous amounts of tea boxes make it playable for a wide variety of different skill sets. The greens run true and fast! The one downfall the course never really felt secluded you really felt like you were always in someone's backyard
Cart 54 where arrrrrre you?
Played here on Saturday the 18th of October - had a 115pm tee time - place was packed - got out on time and pace of play was OK for the first three holes. Saw a ranger at the 4th hole - everything going good - then it happened... Waiting, waiting, waiting.... The 4some two groups ahead of us disappeared but the group directly in front of us started playing like they were on tour and I don't mean they were hitting the ball well... They would stand over balls in the fairway forever and on the green...it was painful. There was no way of keeping any kind of pace and guess what? NO RANGERS!!!!!!!!! Not a one! These guys got slower and slower and the sun was setting minute by minute. Our final putts were made in the dark. Got back to the cart return and asked where the rangers were and he replied "they get off at 5" - I guess they decided to call it quits earlier than that. The gentleman at the cart return said there was more than a half an hour between the group in front of us and the group in front of them. Generally, the course is very nice - we drove 2 1/2 hours from Bergen County NJ to play. It was a long drive home although the discussion on how to get the word spread about this debacle helped pass the time. PS. The nice GPS units in the cart... DIDN'T work. Starter said a lot of them dont. If you're a fan of the PGA slogan "while we're young" ... Don't play here
