Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

Thank you Jaws!
Since Jaws has taken over this course he has restored it back to its former glory. Super friendly and cordial staff, course back in great condition, and with Golf Now a great chance to play it at a bargain. If you are at the shore and want to play a round, don't miss BH Pines.
Highly recommended
I hadn't played Blue Heron Pines for many years and my return visit was most enjoyable and did not disappoint. Not only was the condition of the course excellent for a daily fee course, the staff was terrific. Ron Jaworski really knows how to run a golf course. Layout was beautiful as well.
Loved the course layout and condition.Staff was great. Would recommend this to play anytime!
Course was in very nice shape despite hard rain the day before. Tee boxes and greens were in great condition. Well maintained. Clubhouse staff and starter were great! Enjoyed the grill at the turn, great burgers, dogs and sausage and peppers.
Will return for sure!
Overall great experience
Tried a very early tee time to avoid a long round. Staff got us out a few minutes early and rangers were present to assure a good pace of play. Course was in good condition for amount of rain the previous few days. Even stayed for an early lunch and grabbed fresh cooked burgers off the grill. Outstanding experience.
Only hesitation at check in because I thought my account was already charged but cashier said no and money was due, so I did pay.
Right now the course is in AWESOME condition
the only downside was that the course was "cart path only" on the date we played, after significant rain the day before. It slowed us down some, and the ranger was NOT friendly because of pace of play.....funny how he dissapeared when we had no one behind us!
Worth Playing
I had a 1:33 tee time and they were running way behind because an earlier shotgun start was playing very slow. They did accommodate my group by sending us to the 7th hole to start our round. I thought the course was generally in very good shape but I felt the greens needed a little bit of work. They were a little choppy and probably need to be rolled. Otherwise I really liked this course. This is the third time I have played here in the last three years and I feel it offers a nice combination of challenge and beauty. Look for on line deals to get a better rate as the course could be pricey at the rack rate.
Course was very fair for the average golfer
The course was in great shape! I thought the holes were interesting especially the back nine. Staff was friendly
Always in great shape!
I really like this course. It always seems to be in great condition. They have a range for warming up. The clubhouse is great.
The course is well bunkered and each hole presents a unique challenge.
Nice deal on GolfNow but would not pay regular rates
The course is normally $90-$100 in prime season. It's a nice course but IMO not worth that rate. I booked a 1:42 tee time on GolfNow (plenty of time to finish in daylight) for $45. Course was in great shape with only 2 exceptions. The putting green and 18th green were COVERED in seedlings so practicing putting before the round was impossible. 2-3 minutes with a leaf blower would have made a WORLD of difference. The other issue was that our divot mix bottle was about 1/3 full when we started. We figured it would get us through 9 holes and we could switch it out for a new one from the rack. Nope, a bunch of empties and not a single one with anything in it. Like the course and have played it a few times and will probably be back. Hopefully Jaworski will keep the place up or maybe even lower the rates a bit as this course really shouldn't be considered a "resort" course being 15-20 miles from the beach.
Great layout and challenging
Great condition, greens are fast and well maintained. Rough is thick, stay out of it.
nice course
played early morning 650 am as a single but had plenty of company lawn mowers, rakers, and other ground crew members Need to be a little more aware of play from the tee boxes. Would never hit into workers but sometimes waited 5 to 7 minutes before I could hit away
Great course. Great Shape. Great Value.
The course was in great shape. Greens and fairways were well kept. Can't beat the price.
A favorite Atlantic City course
Started on time on a very busy day. Play kept moving even with a lot of golfers out. Rained earlier and night before and greens were slightly slower than a week ago when they are typically fast.
I highly recommend Blue Heron Pines! A straightforward course that makes your round of golf most pleasurable.
Not bad, but a little too pricy.
It's a decent course but not worth the full price. if you use golf now and get it on a red hot deal, then by all means take it. But for anything over $40, play somewhere else. Things that bother me about this course, you hit a good drive and it rolls into the rough. You get to your ball and you are hitting off an area that gets a lot oftraffic. So it's just a dirt area with patches of grass and makes for a tough lie. The greens are good, tee boxes are good, just wish they would fix the area just off the fairway.
You will enjoy this gem
Just a really nice course. Its challenging enough. Just choose the right tee boxes for your abilities. Play too far back and youll have a long Day.
Played with a really nice couple and another gentleman, so three tee boxes, and we Still finished in 4 hrs
Very enjoyable !!!
Course offers a lot of different challenges. Water, sand, and trees. Does not have a GPS, for first time player difficult to know which club to choose. Having said that....course is fun to play great fairways and well groomed greens. Will play this course again :)
Nice cource. As expected of Jaw's owned course.
Not long but challenging. Fun course to play, Firm greens.
Good design, but needs a bit more TLC
An overall pleasurable experience for golfers of all skill levels. Very large, undulating greens. The bunkers could use better drainage and a few more inches of clean sand. Since there are no pictures or hole layouts at the tees, and scorecard pictures are so small, first time players can't really see where to hit tee shots to avoid bunkers and hazards. Good value for the price. Very friendly and helpful staff.
course is in great shape
the course is in great shape, the staff is great very helpful and friendly. the food is great
