Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

Wide fairways, challenging greens
The course was in great condition for this time of year. The staff was friendly and very accomadating. If you are in the area it should be at the top of your list forplaces to play. The course is very well priced as compared to others in the area. A good value for the money.
Nice course
Played this course for the first time and this was a really pleasant experience. Will play again
The greens were in poor condition but it's early in the season. Would not recommend until mid May.
It's to early in the season to evaluate the eventual course condition but I won't play here again for another 30 days. Greens will need extensive work how ever the fairways should be fine. The club house and bar are being upgraded and will look great.
This course is just ok.
I went there because of golfnow reduced rate. If I had to pay full rate, I would rather go to nearby Vineyards, which is a much nicer course. Jaworski's Running Deer, and Riverwinds are much better courses owned by him.
great place to play winter golf
the fairways and greens were in good shape but the traps were not raked. it was in great shape considering it was the middle of winter.
very nice course
considering it was the middle of january the course was in very good shape
Nice course
Great layout! Great staff. They Need to drain the water out of the bunkers and rake them however. Otherwise the course was nice.
Great course
Course was in great shape for the winter months. Greens were very challenging to putt on due to slope and undulation. I plan on playing this course in march in a tournament and wanted to get in a practice round since I had never played there. Couse was playing at its actual distance as listed on the scorecard.
It was great to be playing golf in January!
For January the course was in great shape, including the greens which were slow, but still running true. Pace of play was very good, we never waited or had anyone pushing us.
Challenging but forgiving
I have played Blue Heron Pines on many occasions and have always had an enjoyable round. The personel are always friendly and helpful and the course at it's very worst is better than most of the courses in our area. There are many challenging holes along with par 3s of 100 to 200 yds. The 13th hole in particular is very challenging and reminiscent off Pine Valley.
course is alot like harbor pines
ok overall . back nine better than front but still not worth what would be charged in summer unless jaws is going to adjust that.
Great Course
This is a very nice course and the staff is awesome. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone!
Great course in great condition
Despite the large number of players that pass through, the course is in remarkably good condition on both the fairways and greens, with few divots to be found. Another nice feature is the wide spread of the course, so that few holes lie side by side, giving the impression of having "the course to yourself" for large sections. All in all a great course and well worth the trip.
fun course. nothing breathtaking.
First of all I booked the $30 tee time at noon. It was a great time weather wise to play. Its the middle of December when I played and the course was a little soggy but nothing bad at all.
I really enjoyed the course and would play it again in a heartbeat. Just as long as they price isn't crazy. I got the cheaper time and can't imagine paying more. While I really liked the course there weren't any holes that totally left me in awe or made a huge impact that stood out.
I haven't played before but I heard that since jaws took over the course it has been getting better. They said he started with the course and has plans to totally redesign the grill. I'm looking forward to playing this course in the future.
Course is in great shape and very playable
Enjoyed the round. Could have used a marshall to spead up group in front.
Greens are in great shape, but why don't golfers repair ballmarks!
Aside from the first and second holes, Blue Heron has penty of teeth and is very diverse. Always look forward to playing here!
still a very good choice
Always an enjoyable round here.. Course is still maintained well..
The 14th hole is which was patterned after the famous 7th hole par 5 at Pine Valley is the signature hole here. In fact, the par 5's on this course are definetly the best holes.. Good overall challenge
Good value
Played as a single, high-handicap in 3 hours. Course uncrowded on a weekday fall afternoon, Friendly staff. Tees, fairways, greens all in pretty good shape.
