Willow Run Golf Course

About
Willow Run Golf Course was designed by a ubiquitous name in central Ohio, Jack Kidwell. The local designer played a role in creating many of the state's courses but he infused a different character into each. Willow Run has an interesting layout that will test your shot making skills as well as your course management capabilities. The greens are bentgrass and the fairways are accented with Ohio bluegrass. Correct placement off the tees is the key to doing well, especially on the front nine. Plenty of water comes into play throughout the golf course as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Willow Run's back nine boasts one of the most challenging par 4s in Ohio, the 13th. The green on this tricky hole is fronted by a meandering creek.

Good course
The course was in good condition, it had rained pretty hard the day before so there were some soggy spots. The play is repetitive with a lot of long straight holes. Golf carts are dated and could use some work. Staff was friendly.
Very nice layout
Great course especially for the price. Highly recommended
Great shape
There are some bad reviews for this course, but not for the course I played yesterday. The greens were in excellent condition. There were a few bare spots on some of the fairways but nothing significant ….. excellent layout. There wasn’t anything not like ….they had a small little snack bar, but I didn’t use it. I would recommend playing this course. It’s not easy. There’s a lot of elevation changes and some gullies you have to fly but definitely a good course. I don’t know what’s wrong with the other reviewers.
2nd time & I’m done
This is my second attempt at trying to play this course. The first time staff was very rude and confrontational about which car I was taking out. The plane pace was extremely slow. I played there again this week pretty much the same thing. Staff was a little better but at just 11 o’clock the pace was extremely slow. I paid for 18 only played nine and left.
Course
Course had some bare spots in fairway but overall was okay. They really need to look at redoing cart paths though
Could be a lot nicer
Course layout is ok but the conditions could be better. Just needs better up keep. Ball washers have not had clean water in weeks so dirty
Good value for the money
A really nice value for the money now that every golf course seems to be raising its prices by $10-$20. A country course where you aren’t right up against houses which is nice. Very short course as well.
The cart paths are by far the worst cart paths I’ve ever experienced and have been for several seasons. I think it would drastically change the course if they were to repair these.
Some fairways were quite rough but the average was acceptable.
Greens were in very fair shape, and usually always are here.
Pace of play is usually not too much of an issue, but the most recent round ended with us stuck behind several groups in the closing few holes.
I would recommend this course if you can get out early in the day, I can imagine things really slowing down in the afternoon.
Great Value Course
Willow is the best value around! I don’t want to share that too loud or it will get crowded. However, it is well groomed and maintained and a course you can actually afford to play! I sure hope they can keep the rates low while all others are through the roof. The clubhouse is nothing fancy but a great place to grab some turn or post round snacks & beverages. Pro shop has everything you might have forgotten or just decided you needed! Only gripe I would have are the cart paths are in dire need of repair. I get it though, repair the paths and my rates go up. So, I’m ok just slowing down and adding taking the strategic route to your next shot. Most sand traps have playable sand, unlike many courses. Again, another cost I understand. Definitely enjoy playing this course!
Will Run July 2025
Great Value Course. Greens and Fairways in good shape for the value on the weekend rate of just over $40. Has a few difficult holes due to the placement of trees. I would play it a little differently next time due to some small streams popping up over hills that we did not know were there. Have a range finder but no real visible 150 or 100 yard markers to get general distance. Par threes were challenging from the Blues as they were all at least 165 yards to pin. i would play again. Staff was awesome and concessions are very reasonably priced.
