MetroWest Golf Club
About
This Robert Trent Jones Sr. design is one of the area’s most venerable venues. The fluid beauty of MetroWest provides for a challenging but playable experience. Wide rolling fairways give all levels of players the opportunity to find the short grass, and the four sets of tees working from 7,051 yards down to the 5,325-yard forward tees make hitting greens in regulation a reasonable endeavor. No push over, though, bunkers seem to anchor every corner on every dogleg and elevation changes of up to 100 feet in some circumstances tug back in the course’s favor.

Weedy, Otherwise Fine
The course is clearly beyond its best days, but it's a good day for the price. Weeds on the tee boxes and fairways were disappointing but didn't affect play too much. Greens had just been sanded so putting was a challenge. I did feel like I needed to rake the green after holing out. Staff was terrific; all in all a great day.
The course was terrible for the price
First the lady was extremely rude in the front, had a terrible attitude so terrible service, then the course was in bad conditions. Cant tell the difference in fairways and rough, greens were very patchy, and the tee boxes were just dirt with occasional grass spots. Wouldn't recommend paying 50-90 dollars per person here.
Mehhhh….just ok.
It was ok to say I played it. Course is in serious need of some TLC. Actually loved the layout with some cool holes. Tee boxes and greens need help. There were no yardage markers in the fairway. Tee boxes just had sticks. “New golf carts” had wiring and space for gps system but it was missing in my cart.
Needs a lot of work
To change close to 100 for these conditions is ridiculous. Hardly any grass on tee boxes and most greens had weeds throughout. Overall not worth the money.. Sad because I really used to like this course.
Nice day on the course
Metro is set up as a professional course. You are greeted kindly at the bag drop off, helped to load your clubs, directed to the pro shop , and provided any other help as needed.
Tee times are managed well. Starters do a good job at getting you off at your time. Pace of play is acceptable. On course refreshments are available at a typical price. Bar tender in the clubhouse was wonderful.
The only slight drawback is the lack of onsite support if there are unruly players on the course, slowing play down or making their own course adjustments by cutting ahead of other groups when there is no openings ahead...
All in all , it was a great day on the course.
Very good cou6
Everything was good 👍 conditions, pace layout all made for a good day of golf
a nice course!
i had a good round at metro west. the course layout was good and my only issue was that the grass wasn't great around the greens, but this has been an issue at many of the courses i played in florida on this trip. i booked on a hot deal and the course was great value for the money. i would come back again if i came back to florida.
Course needs work.
Course is in really rough shape. Mostly weeds, no grass on t-boxes, greens need work. No trash cans, ball washers, beverage carts.
Terrible Conditions Hope it Gets Better....
I love this course when it is in good shape as it was a few months ago when I played. Yesterday was a disappointment. It amazes me that the course conditions can change so quickly over a few weeks.
The only bright spot was the course was pretty empty, and we played in 3 hours.
Honest assessment of my round at MetroWest today
The staff were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The beverage cart came by three times, and the starter was awesome. I really appreciated the customer service throughout the day.
The tee boxes were in rough shape, but I expected that based on other reviews. Fairways, on the other hand, were in great condition—tight lies and firm turf let the ball roll forever, which made my drives count.
Now the greens... I hope they’re able to put some work into them. They were definitely fast, but bumpy, which made putting unpredictable. Sort of patchy grass here at there.
Still, considering the price to play on a beautiful Monday with perfect weather, it was absolutely worth it. The course layout is excellent and makes for an enjoyable round overall.
yardage
I have been playing for 60 years and played over a thousand different courses and never has there been no yardage markers of any kind on the course. You could just take the tee box stakes and place them on course. Everything else about course is fine and greens are fast with suttle breaks at the hole. Will be back when you get yardage markers
Fun layout, fairways are thin.
Greens were in very good shape, but fairways and tees were very thin.
Ok Metro! Time to adjust your price
Don’t get me wrong really like the golf course. The layout is very cool and I understand why you increase your rates during the PGA show and the Bayhill invitational, but you are no longer a $70 golf course. Here’s the reason. For some reason you removed all the GPS is from the carts, and there is no yardage markers in the fairways so it’s a guessing game unless you have a rangefinder. Secondly, about 60 to 70% of the tea boxes are sanded garbage right now even off a tea. There’s so much sand under your feet. It’s hard to not slip and at least half the greens have so much Poauna the ball changes directions multiple times very hard to hold a line which is frustrating. Green space should be half of what it is right now no more than 35 bucks.
Great course!
Course is in great shape although a few tee boxes could use some help. As a foursome we finished the round in 3 1/2 hours and the rate was great at $50. They also have new golf carts with GPS soon to be installed.
Could never understand why this course is not busier then it is as they have pretty much everything a golfer could ever want.
