Brunswick Golf Club - Dogwood/Azalea Course
About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
The dogwood course lies along the waters of the Caw Caw Run amongst hardwood trees with wide open fairways. All are fairly flat with moderate rough.

Golfer Reviews
Great experience
The place is beautiful Staff friendly and helpful.
Greens very slow.
One issue with the layout, which must cause unnecessary slow play, is a majority of the cart paths are a long distance from the green with steep mounds, not senior friendly.
5 hours
Ignored at bag drop. They were busy. Had tee time at 1 and 12:53 we still didn’t have a cart. That’s all fine they were busy.
The 5 hour round was the annoying part. Apparently they had a members day or something. The course was backed up. they had 5 somes out there. Such a long day. Course was in really good shape.
Brunswick Plantation
On this day we played the Dogwood and Azalia courses. As usual, fairways and greens were in superb condition and bunkers were well groomed and very playable. The greens have both subtle and not so subtle undulations which are sometimes challenging but a great test of golf. All in all, playing this course is always a pleasant experience.
Brunswick Plantation
Brunswick Plantation is always one of our favourite destinations due to consistency and condition of the course. On this particular visit though the outstanding features were the starter and his assistant. After a frost delay until 9:15, we were able to tee-off within twenty minutes of our scheduled 12:28 time and they both managed to keep cheerful and courteous attitudes. They should be applauded!
Great course for the $
Very friendly and helpful staff! We played in mid March, fairways and rough are in good shape and the greens are nice, but cut a little long. We played on a Hotdeal $ so bang for the buck was outstanding.
Excellent Experience
Had not played this course for several years but am planning to return soon. Greens were very consistent and true, bunkers were well groomed and fairways were easy to play from, yielding divots without extra effort. Definitely a great golf experience provided one chooses the appropriate tees to play from!
Excellent condition and layout is great!
All holes are interesting with strategic bunker placement and water on many holes. Conditions are excellent always!
Great Course and Staff
Enjoyed the course. Everything in great shape. The only negative was the pace of play. It would be helpful if the ranger would move slow groups along or if slow groups would let faster golfers play through. Other than that the staff was friendly and the course in great shape.
Great Day
First time at this course, design of the course is great. The green was slow and I prefer faster. Overall in good shape, great course for the price. Pace of play was very very slow ( 5:00 )… I will return for sure!
