The Neuse Golf Club
About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Always a great experience
The Neuse was in excellent shape as usual. Challenging but fair course.
Love The Neuse
I played a long time ago here. Remembered one hole. Still love that course.
Unannounced Aeration!
Course was very nice minus the unexpected aeration on the greens. We drove an hour expecting to have a great experience but were disappointed by the aerated greens and generous amount of top dressing. None of which was mentioned as we checked in. Definitely would not have spent the time and money for aerated greens.
Golf Now and its member courses have to do a better job providing timely information about course conditions.
Good local course
Bunkers need sand, only 1/2-3/4 inches of sand were in the two green side bunkers I found, hard to play out of. Greens are recovering but still needs some TLC. Play was slow but not too bad.
Nice course
Pace was fabulous. About 4 hours on a holiday. Greene a bit dry but overall course was in good shape
Fun Layout
It was a fun track. A lot of character to the holes and a very fair course. Greens were very fast and you didn’t want to get above the hole. GPS on carts were a great amenity and help!
Only knock I had was the staff wasn’t the most welcoming. I had to ask the guy in the shop for simple directions and the responses were not the warmest. The lady at the grill made it seem like I was an inconvenience for placing an order.
Other than that, loved the course. Would def play again!
Will Play Again
The course was in great shape! One of the prettiest courses I've played locally. My son and I had a great time.
Worth Playing
This course has a very fun layout that will take a couple of times to really dial in. The greens are extremely fast but are in good shape. There is a great range and chipping area. I will be playing the course again when I can get a good rate.
Rainy Sunday
Only got nine holes in before the sky opened up. Clubhouse crew were nice in giving us rain checks. Fairways were still a little thin in spots. The greens were fairly fast but a little grainy. Love playing the Neuse and gladly will return.
Great Condition/Brutal Pace
First time at Neuse this year....it is in excellent condition for mid-April. Could maybe use a little more sand (without stones) in some of the bunkers. A 5 hour round on a Thurs. afternoon is ridiculous.....never saw a ranger. IMO there were several groups ahead of us who were playing the wrong tees and/or just didn't have the skill to play this course.....it's not easy from the wrong tees!
Quiet Weekday Afternoon
Pace of play was excellent. We also went for the last 18 in the daylight so everyone was moving very quickly to finish. Grass was great all-around. Bar was open, hot food available, pro shop open and fully stocked. The course is VERY hilly, so if you're like me and can't hit the green from your tee shot, then expect to be doing some roaming by foot to navigate the hills. However, it's a beautiful course. Highly recommend for people that are better than me (I regularly shoot 100-120).
First time playing
The course plays well and is enjoyable and challenging. Lots of steep hills going from the greens to the cart path. Greens are maintained well and have considerable break so some are hard to read. Enjoyed playing Neuse CC.
Solid Course
The Neuse has improved every year over the last 5 years. The food, pro shop, and restaurant are very good. The course is in good condition and greens are fast. One of the better courses for the money in the triangle area. Fun layout as well and the practice facilities are well kept.
The Neuse
Have not played the course in several years. Layout and topography of the course presents players a challenge. Bunkers are placed where shots slightly off will be found. Greens were in good shape and require attention to be paid to accurately read. Amenities and facilities are well maintained. Pace of place was unfortunately bad. After teeing off we had waits on every hole after and ended up with almost a 5 hour round as a result. Given our late afternoon tee time it become a bit of a challenge to finish before sunset.
