About
Neuse Golf Club was ranked as one of the best public golf courses in North Carolina, second only to Pinehurst. The layout winds along the Neuse River across rolling hills that are dotted with rocky outcroppings. Towering, mature pines accent the landscape as well, especially along the fairways. Each hole provides a dramatically different challenge and unique scenery. Views of the winding river can be enjoyed on almost every hole. A variety of bunkers and doglegs are strategically placed throughout the golf course, demanding both accuracy and thoughtful strategy. The design closely follows the natural contours of the hilly terrain. Dramatic elevation changes guarantee that flat lies will be hard to find. The golf course is no easy feat but the beautiful scenery and interesting hole designs will appeal to any player.

Great course. Need a Marshall
What a great experience until the 12th hole. Nice pace until 12 and then long waits at every hole A Marshall could have encouraged one group and the flow would have smoothed out. My last two hours on the course were so frustrating. Please use Marshall’s on busy days
Always fun
I’ve always enjoyed the course. Really good conditions and pace of play was great!
Pace of play was terrible
No starter or ranger on the course for a Saturday is absolutely insane. We had a foursome jump in front (members who didn't play the front) of us at the turn and backed us up even more. 5 plus hours for the round was just ridiculous
Overpriced
Stacked the tee times too close together. The greens were in okay shape, but there were more than a few that had entirely too much sand on them. The 18th green was basically a sand trap
Always a great experience
The Neuse was in excellent shape as usual. Challenging but fair course.
Love The Neuse
I played a long time ago here. Remembered one hole. Still love that course.
Unannounced Aeration!
Course was very nice minus the unexpected aeration on the greens. We drove an hour expecting to have a great experience but were disappointed by the aerated greens and generous amount of top dressing. None of which was mentioned as we checked in. Definitely would not have spent the time and money for aerated greens.
Golf Now and its member courses have to do a better job providing timely information about course conditions.
Good local course
Bunkers need sand, only 1/2-3/4 inches of sand were in the two green side bunkers I found, hard to play out of. Greens are recovering but still needs some TLC. Play was slow but not too bad.
Nice course
Pace was fabulous. About 4 hours on a holiday. Greene a bit dry but overall course was in good shape
