Tanglewood Golf Club - Reynolds Course
About
Tanglewood in Clemmons is home to two 18-hole courses, the Championship Course and the Reynolds Course, both designed by Robert Trent Jones. Golf Digest has ranked the Reynolds Course as one of the top 75 public courses in the country. At 7,101 yards from the back tees, the golf course may lack the length of modern courses but it has all of the challenges. The sloping fairways are lined with trees and there are several doglegs that demand draws and fades from the back tees. The final hole is considered the most difficult at Tanglewood. This narrow, twisting par 4 climbs an uphill fairway guarded by a deep bunker on the left and mature woods on the right. You'll need a long, straight tee shot in order to have a chance at hitting the tiny, elevated green, which is also well protected by bunkers.

Definitely for a better golfer
I really enjoyed the course. I am not a good player The bunkers are way too many. I have golfed for a long time and if I were a good golfer I think it would be fantastic. Skill sure would have helped my game.
for 10 it was good
The fairways could use some work the tee boxes also.
The greens were soft but fast. The rangers need to monitor time of groups. I was a single playing with a 3 some. it was a 5 hr round, bout an hr to long.
But for 10 bucks it was ok.
Gate fee ??
Had to pay a 2$ gate fee to get in to get to the course. Nice place nice layout. Fun and challenging, played reynolds course. Woukdbt recommend the championship course unless you can work the ball around dog legs. Reyonlds was tough enough. Slightly narrow with trees lined all around. Would go back , just salty on a gate fee. Cart path was confusing, drank a entire beer finding #10 teebox.
Great course - staff needs work
Course is great but needs some attention during the fall. Leaves are not cleaned up off of fair ways it makes it harder to find your ball from the sun reflecting off the leaves. Staff needs a little work seems like they are grumpy if you dont know your way around. Also the staff members need to notify cart path policy. You dont really know if you can drive on the fairways or not.
Greens are terrible.
Played this course twice over the last couple weeks preparing for a tournament. Really a target golf course. A lot of elevation changes and doglegs. Fairways and tee boxes in excellent shape. Greens were horrible. Aerated several weeks ago, but grass was sparse and crabgrass plentiful.Greens greatly takeaway from overall experience. Sad you have to lose so many strokes on poor greens. It was the same last year when I played.
Great value
The Reynolds course if fun to play, and the condition of the course was good. The greens were in decent shape. I love the layout of this course, and when the greens are good, it's a great value and experience.
weekday afternoon round
Overall the course was in good condition. I would say that I have seen the greens in a lot better condition. But the tee boxes and the fairways made up for it.
Aerated greens
I liked this course. Certainly an old school design. Tough, challenging and simple design.
Staff- the cart guy was really helpful. Snack girl gave me the last of the coffee (love her). Everyone else was terrible. Check in the lady just couldn't be bothered. The started started nice and the came around and said we needed to hurry. Pulled up to the next tee and waited. We were stuck between groups as a twosome and couldn't get out. Ridiculous. This stated in my head a stopped us from playing the great round we had going. She also said the greens were rolling surpringly well. Ridiculous! They were aerated 2.5 weeks before and if I had known I would have played there.
A test of golf
The course is short for lower HCP players. We played from the tips.
The layout is super. Lots of elevation changes and lots of doglegs to hit around. Requires accuracy and shot making.
Greens are bent grass and were good. Not fast but not slow, middle of the road.
Only complaint is that it's a bit rough around the edges. If you get off the fairways much you will have a hard time finding your ball because of how much they let the grass grow up.
But over all I will play it more than a few times in the future!
Reynolds course Tanglewood
It had been several years since I last played but found the course to be in good condition. No issues with greens.
Doglegs and blind shots
The one thing good about the course were the greens. Good shape and rolled nicely.
The fairways and tees were really thin to bare in most spots. Layout is bad, 90 degree dogles and blind shots on many holes. Multiple holes where you can be blocked out from hitting to the green while sitting in the fairway. Would not play again, even with a $10 hot deal.
Great Value
The Reynolds course is a fun & challenging course. My only complaint is the bunkers, they need some tending to, the addition of real sand would be nice. For a public course and the amount of play it is in great shape. I'll definitely play it again & I'm looking forward to playing the Championship course.
Great Value!
Very solid course with lots of elevation change. Fairways could have used a little more grass, but that's nitpicking. Loved the bent greens even though they were slightly slow. I'll be back.
The fairways need better caring.
Sand traps are not sand -hard dry dirt.
I have played a lot of courses and never seen "dirt traps" instead of sand. No reason they can get sand in the traps.
Fairways are sparse for grass in too many places.
Winding creek in Tville is much better maintained.
Great value
The sand traps need work. Greens were nice.
Great Layout, Poor Conditions!!!!!!
Fairways okay, greens slooow and full of every type of weed and yard grass, bunkers unplayable. Evidently Forsyth County has no money for golf course maintanance.
Visit from the QC
We traveled from Charlotte and was impressed by the park itself. The Reynolds course is in great shape. The greens are incredible, yet difficult to read Gorgeous scenery of birds and deer. The fairways are in great shape. We enjoyed the course so much we played 27 holes . Staff was very courteous and helpful.
We shall return soon.
QC FOUR
Tangle wood
Not a friendly staff except cart guy that checks me in. Place could be amazing. Reynolds is narrow and hilly. Many blind shots. Maybe The Donald could purchase and fix it up. A rest park surrounds this course. Maybe it was too early to get good conditions.
That's not a good golf course
Bad experience, bad conditions
