Tanglewood Golf Club - Reynolds Course
About
Tanglewood in Clemmons is home to two 18-hole courses, the Championship Course and the Reynolds Course, both designed by Robert Trent Jones. Golf Digest has ranked the Reynolds Course as one of the top 75 public courses in the country. At 7,101 yards from the back tees, the golf course may lack the length of modern courses but it has all of the challenges. The sloping fairways are lined with trees and there are several doglegs that demand draws and fades from the back tees. The final hole is considered the most difficult at Tanglewood. This narrow, twisting par 4 climbs an uphill fairway guarded by a deep bunker on the left and mature woods on the right. You'll need a long, straight tee shot in order to have a chance at hitting the tiny, elevated green, which is also well protected by bunkers.

Enjoy the wildlife
Most people are playing the championship course so we had no pressure behind or in front. Deer were strolling the course at various places. Beautiful round of golf!
decent bang for the buck
Not bad for a $20 round. If you are going to get any food or beverage before your round....arrive early! Took us 15 minutes to get a couple things because they only have 1 person working! !!
Good deal at $20
Last minute decision to play and I found this on GN for $20/man. The greens are slow and in reasonbly good shape. The fairways are a little thin in spots but green. The tee boxes are in poor condition. This course is very tight and accuracy is much more important than distance. Nice elevation changes throughout and it gets less traffic than the popular Championship course. If you can play it for $20 - do it.
Greens are in great shape!
Best I have seen the greens in some time. Soft and a little slow but no thin or bare spots.
Fairways are decent, bunkers in good shape. Tee boxes are thin and weedy especially the ones in shade.
I wouldn't pay the full rate to play but you can't beat $18.00 from Golfnow!
Course is very nice in it's layout.
To many dry spots on the fairways. Great work happening on the tee boxes (much needed)
beautiful course
Great Time good shape tee boxes need help tho! first nine was good timing but second nine was very slow need a ranger to keep pace up! thx
Tanglewood-Reynolds
Little rough in spots, hard to locate yardage markers but all-in-all Good course
Great time at Tanglewood Reynolds
Booked a tee time for two through GolfNow and added a third without any problem on Saturday morning. Actually teed off 8 minutes ahead of schedule and played 18 in 4 hours 25 minutes. Very good pace for a Saturday. Course was in very good shape - challenging and fun. Very pretty setting inside of Tanglewood Park. Will definitely return!
Loved it!
Great course, had a hard time with the trees, and hills, i'm use to playing in Arizona. Now that i know what the course is like, i'm sure to have a better score next time out. I had a great time. Moe
Great Pace of play
We played on June 7th at 1:30 We played in 3.5 hrs. on the Reynolds course. This course is very challenging for the amateur player. Lots of tight holes where the player needs to be able to shape the ball. If you can move the ball around you should be fine. The course was in great shape.
Not worse the money
We played both cources at Tangelwood within one week. Because we liked the championship course, we come back to play the Renolds course! This was no good idea! The condition and the maintenance of this course was very very poor. Very bad conditions of the gras on the fairways and a lot of blank areas everywhere on the course! It was not worse the money we spend for it!!!
Great Course
To me the Back 9 is more challenging than the Front 9. Front is more open than back. Lots of fun to play.
Give it a shot!
Sometimes this course is overshadowed by BIG BROTHER, the championship course. But, it is worth playing.
You'll have to navigate tight fairways and face some challenging greens, so, a great challenge.
You'll hit every club in your bag!
Decent course for the money
First time I played here, I was disappointed to find out that I had to pay to park (only $2) but it's the fact I have to pay to park then pay to play. Saw the ranger on the first hole he was nice but then didn't see him the rest of the round and the back 9 got VERY slow. Course was in decent shape, back 9 was nicer than the front. Decent course for the money and I would play here again but wouldn't be my first choice
Overbooked/greens to slow/ 1 mile ride to 10
We left after 5 holes they overbooked and it took over 2 hours to play 5 holes. Greens are way to slow and bumpy. They did give us a rain check and we play late afternoon on a Tuesday. Back 9 is beautiful after almost a mile long slow cart ride to 10. Someone jumped in front of us on 10 and it is not a place we'll be revisiting. I don't recommend this course there are far better places to play.
Great value course
The Reynolds course was moderately challenging and in pretty good shape for mid-April. The greens were still healing from aeration, but were close to being true, just rolled slow. Fairways were in good shape with few bad patches. I played it as it lied and found no issues, though clean and place would have been nice. Sand traps were well maintained and soft.
Overall I would recommend this course and will definitely be playing there again.
Challenging course. Bring all of your clubs.
Course was very busy and slow. Saw ranger 3 or 4 times but pace remained slow all day. Greens had been aerated some time previously and had excessive sand on them and had not been rolled for a while. There had been no notification that the greens were in this condition or I would not have played there knowing that. I believe fees should be reduced in theses instances because you don't get to play the course as you wanted or expected. I have played this course before using Golfnow and always have to call Golfnow's 800 number to make reservation. It is not Golfnow issue but Tanglewood's. Golfnow should contact Tanglewood to fix problem.
Always fun to play the little brother course (who bites)
Yes it is the little course to big brother however it has some teeth so watch out! The greens are just as fast as the Championship course and there are few holes that can run up your score if you do not pay attention and play smart. It is tighter and shorter but alot of fun to play. The bunkers are more consistent and the layout is alittle tighter.
Well kept public course
Had a nice day there. Really nice facility and well kept. Course is fun with character.
Outstanding course
Simply put; this is an outstanding course... Although it's a public course, it is run and has the feel of most country club courses. The course was in excellent condition for the season and the fact that we had experienced "winter weather" within the past couple days.
I would definitely recommend this course and will be playing it frequently myself in the future.
