Greens need replacement
Course layout is very enjoyable, short but narrow on the back 9. Overall a nice course but the greens are the worst I've played in a long time. It also doesn't help when people don't repair their balls marks, so cant blame it all on management. I will not be coming back until the greens are addressed.
lost greens
The conditions of the greens were utterly terrible. Two-thirds were almost unplayable. They were covered in crab grass and mud. Very disappointing compared to the conditions of the course last summer.
Greens are really shot...
Previous reviews of poor greens were correct. The majority of the greens have been badly infiltrated with crabgrass and are basically not puttable. It's a shame as the course conditions were fine and the layout is nice. It's such a fun course to play but I cannot recommend it to anyone and it is off my list until I see some positive reviews.
Great layout, but..
The greens are almost beyond repair. Unrepaired pitch marks are one thing, but the greens are full of crabgrass. I will avoid until something is done about them-as in replace them- a shame because last year it was my favorite course.
Bad greens
The fairways were in good shape, but the greens were horrendous! Crab grass sprouting up, partially aerated, a lot of ball marks and dead spots. Very disappointed.
The name
It's called the Crossings for a reason- challenging layout and you better bring a good irons game! It's a very fair course- definitely plan to play again.
Great Course
A fun course to play, greens are a little beat up, but over all course is in good shape. Staff is amazing!
So much potential, just not yet realized
I want to love this course. I thoroughly enjoy the layout and the need for quality ballstriking and shotmaking. The greens are soft but still fairly quick. But there are just so many bare patches and places where the turf has just not been maintained well. And the greens have just been decimated with unrepaired ball marks, to the point it looks like the surface of the moon. And God help you on the cart paths, which are basically the equivalent of driving through a war-torn village...
Surprised
Awesome great round very tricky only really needs a little bunker attention you won’t be sorry playing at this venue
Treated awesomely
Everyone was so nice and helpful. You could tell they appreciated me being there.
Great day off
My visit to The Crossings was both rewarding and relaxing I found the course very competitive from the white tees with friendly second shots and competitive green layouts I would recommend The Crossing this to all my friends and look forward to going back
Every hole a challenge!
First time playing this course and found it interesting and challenging. You have to think your strategy on each hole. I lost three balls but found seven so others also had trouble with course management! The greens were in good condition and better than most in the area. The fairways were average for this time of year. Nevertheless, the course was enjoyable to play. The downside was the pace of play. A Marshall is sorely needed to get slower players to either get moving or let quicker players through. I note that there is an appeal for Starters and Marshalls in the Club House Sotheby’s Club are trying to do something about pace of play.
Overall, enjoyed the experience and will play here again when next in the area.
Watch out for the hazards
Great course with a nice layout. Quite a few doglegs, and alot of water. Went on a Monday afternoon and only paid $17 with a cart. Can't beat that. Will be back. Greens in good shape! Fairways a little rough, but normal for this part od the year. Give it a few weeks and it will be in great shape.
James in Raleigh
Course was in good shape, since we had a lot of rain this past week. Greens were good and the pace of play was exceptional! Staff was very helpful.
I will be back!!
Good as possible this time of year.
Bad winter has left fairways bare and dormant. Greens aereated a few weeks ago and coming in fine.
Tough layout, nice staff and good pace of play. One of the best valued courses around.
