Interesting Layout
Front 9 and back 9 are very different. Back 9 tight with lots of water/low areas. Fairways and rough are in very good condition. Greens are so-so.....way too many unrepaired ball marks! Greens weren't as fast as they looked but rolled true.
Short but challenging.
Not a long course, but has plenty of places to challenge your game. Greens a little rough because they are soft and so many players fail to repair their ball marks.
Great Course
The course has quite a bit of elevation change, and is fairly tight. Bent grass greens in good shape. The staff is very friendly and the pace of play was excellent. I will definitely play here again.
Good course for the money
The course was in good condition for early September.
Play was slow for a 1:30 pm tee off. We were told it was due
To a group of older members ahead of us.
To be fair we were a twosome. They were a foresome.
But 5 hours is too slow.
Also, no driving range.
Good layout and condition
I've played the Crossings many times, but it had been multiple years since my last round there. Layout is good. Need to think your way around to avoid trouble. Course was in really good condition when I played. Bunkers could use some attention to improve the course. No driving range here (knew that going in). Greens were good but slow (Bent grass so purposely not cut down to fast speeds I suspect). Staff was welcoming (checkin and 19th hole).
Good value
Course is in pretty good shape except for the bunkers. Most are unplayable. Greens really nice. No range but staff is friendly and overall a good value.
The course was in fairly good shape. The biggest disappointment would be lacking a range for warming up. The greens were extremely soft and most iron shots resulted in a plugged ball. Course is extremely short, be prepared to leave the driver in the bag. Overall, great course to score low!
Thsi course was fun
The course is in good conditin even after all the rain in the evening. The greens putted well. The course is short but leads to good scoring opportunites which makes it fun.
Fun and friendly
The course was in good condition. The fairways were firm and the greens soft. You were guaranteed to make a large divot with any full shot landing on the green. At the Hot Deal cost of $17, it was an amazing value for 4.5 hours of golf.
The set up is not long and allows you to work the ball without much difficulty. I'd rather fly a ball over water than try to constantly fly it through a tree.
Poor facilities
I was looking forward to this round as a colleague recommended it... However it was very disappointing... The greens were so soft that several times the ball just plugged and there were a lot of weeds... It was extremely hot today and the course only had water on 2 holes, one on the front and one on the back. The ranger came past once on the 2nd!!! We almost had to end the game on the 14th as we were all dehydrated... We had such a bad experience we will never come back.. Sorry folks...
Excellent Greens
Layout is fun, especially from back tees. Greens are excellent....true and fast! For those in RTP area, the greens are comparable to Pine Hollow and River Ridge. The starter was especially helpful, as he tried to push a slow threesome ahead of us. Will be back soon, a bit of a drive from N. Raleigh but well worth it!
Lots Of Challenges
Very interesting course with lots of penalties for a poorly placed tee shot. The course was in great shape, especially the greens. Could have used more water on the back 9.
Good Late Spring Condition
Front 9/Back 9 are completely different. Back 9 is target golf. Overall, the course is in very good condition....including the bent grass greens. The greens were a bit furry and slow but rolled true. If patrons would repair ball marks and rake the traps, it would make everyone's round that much better. All in all, it was a good day and the pace was excellent.....3 hrs!
