Good pace of play
We played on a Saturday morning and were pleased with how quickly we were able to move through the round - some courses get badly congested at crowded times resulting in interminable waiting between shots. The course was in reasonable shape. Because of the recent hurricane there were still piles of debris around the course and many soggy areas. The greens were not in perfect condition - many were pock marked giving the impression that many of the clients can't be bothered to repair ball marks.
All around great course
Excellent shape, the fairways, 2nd and 3rd cuts and the greens all in great shape!!!! Your ball is always in in hittable plush grass unless you play the woods. I would play this course over and over if I had the time.
Excellent service from checking in, the grill, the starter, the first tee block through the 18th and back at the grill.
Prices are great at the course and even better if you book a hot deal through GolfNow like I did for $17. This is a must play course right now.
Nice layout
Interesting holes, challenging from the blue, greens good (but were just punched when we played). Fun course.
Not too bad.
First, the greens are in horrible shape. The fairways are in nice shape and the course layout isn't half bad. It's an okay course and it's cheap. If you're playing here, you probably live close by and know it's a better layout than Falls Village. It's basically one or two steps up from the really awful courses around here (like Falls, Brevofield or Pascal).
Greens need work
I've played The Crossings a few times as it is one of the closer courses to my house. This was the first time I was disappointed in the greens. They were peppered with holes and bumps and crab grass. I love the course but the greens let me down.
opposite way
I used to play often here. It has been several years since I played last time. Usually they have very nice green but fairways. This time fairways are well maintained but greens. Greens are too soft and slow. I didn't like it but it helped my score a lot.
Good time despite soggy greens
The greens were excessively damp but overall the course was in good shape. We had fun playing a wide, yet challenging course.
Good play in a wet round
This is not my first round at the Crossings by far but in the years I have been playing I must say the course is in the best shape that I have seen. They had irradiated the greens sometime in the days prior but the tool they use makes very small marks and impressions and does not effect the putting lines very much. Some of the greens are in pretty pressing condition but overall they are in good shape and role pretty true. You can not beat the value payed to play though. Great round of golf for a great price.
Greens has gone downhill
The course was great love the layout...the greens was horrible. They patches of grass growing on them which cause your ball to bounce or jump.
Fun Layout!
This was my first time at the Crossings and I was pleasantly surprised. Each hole is unique and most require careful thought at the tee box. Not a long course, even from the black tees where I played, but I enjoyed every hole. Lots of elevation changes. The greens are forgiving. The condition of the fairways and tee boxes was excellent with only a few wet spots to be expected. It was cart path only. The greens had been punched about 10 days ago maybe 14 and they are still healing and there are few bare spots here and there. The still rolled well and I found the condition of the greens overall to be good. In a few more weeks when fully healed they should be very good. I played as a single and really enjoyed myself. Will be making many return trips. Well done!
Visitor
Played the course following a night of heavy rain. I was only able to play the front nine. Back nine was closed because of the heavy rain. The course was really wet with some standing water which added to the difficulty of the course.
Crossings - 05/28/16
The course was in good shape except for the green on #10, it has some dead spots and other issues, but overall it was a good round. Given it was a holiday weekend, the pace of play was not a factor as there were not a lot of golfers out. A fun and challenging course.
Challenging and Fun but not Too Long
This is almost the perfect golf course for somebody serious about the game, but who because of age or stature is not a long hitter. The course plays relatively short but there is plenty of water, strategically placed bunkers, and elevation changes. Accuracy is key. Greens are large and several undulate and/or are bordered by berms. I began taking lessons again a couple weeks ago and so far have concentrated on pitching, chipping and putting, and this was the perfect course to try out my new skills. The small but welcomming Mallard Grill has good sandwiches and a variety of draft beers. It is a residential course, but the houses and yards aren't as obtrusive as with some, and the hills and water make for a picturesque setting on many of the holes. This course will be on our short list for when we want a break from our home course.
Nice track and good value
This is a fun course and challenging from the tips.. Dont let the 6500 yds fool you into thinking it will be a pushover. This is a really good track. If you want challenge play the tips but there are other tee box options to fit anyones level.
Awesome
Great course to play and will give you a challenge on the back 9. Played on a wet day and the course was in good shape. A few of the greens needed some work, but overall the course is in good shape.
Nice greens
I really like the lay out. The greens are big and rolled well. Some nice holes. Staff was very welcoming.
Great Durham Course
I have never had a bad experience at this course. The staff is friendly. The course is well kept and the greens roll nicely. There are some challenging holes and if you are not in the fairway, you will lose your ball. Great Experience!!!
Good
Way better than I was expecting a thinking mans golf course if you want a true test you should definitely try your skills out here not for the faint hearted accuracy required with Little forgiveness have to keep your head in the game really enjoyed this track make the trip
