Great course, very challenging
Greens were aerated, but course was in excellent condition and challenging. I will go again. Staff very friendly.
FAIR, BUT TOUGH
Front nine is fairly open, and tends to be right to left holes. Back nine is very tight, requiring a lot of accuarate tee shots to keep you out of trouble. Greens seem to be a little more severe in slope also on the back nine. Fun to play, but it is tough, and in good shape.
Great experience
Course challenging. It is necessary to hit the fairways. OB unforgiving on many of the holes. Very interesting features.
Good value for the green fees..
Tight fairways so you need to keep your shots major straight..
Used to be a great course
Very disappointed in the maintenance of the course. Greens very slow due to long grass. Sand traps, I mean lack of sand traps were very poor at best. If they can't afford to keep up the sand traps plant grass and make it a tough lie rather than an ugly eye sore!!! Looks like they haven't put sand in there for years and it just washed away. THIS USED TO BE THE BEST TRACK IN DURHAM!!!! Now just a hackers paradise and charging too much to play it. Needs a complete management firing and new people brought in!!!!!! Awesome layout at one time now better off passing it by!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
enjoyed this course
I enjoyed this course looking forward to going back
front side a little easier than back,
Golf Now + Friendly Staff & Nice Track = Fun Day
Sometimes just having fun gets lost somewhere between par & bogey with all the pressures of golf but our day at the Crossings was a blast even with temps hovering around the century mark. The greens were soft & in really good condition (hats off to keepers). This track keeps you attention and does not get repetitious like an unnamed course in the same zip code. The only attention I would recommend would be @ the Par 3 15th that needs some "ground under repair" ropes & signs in a rough patch right of the green.
As always the staff here was courteous & happy to see me walk through the door which is not something I take for granted after 25 years of playing the game. Got a super value through Golf Now which makes playing on the weekend affordable.
Keep it up! One of the top golf experiences in the Raleigh/Durham area is at the Crossings .
Interesting course
Generally great value - no rush , simple check in. Bonus - refreshments available all day - on a cart ( may need to advertise this though- a banner displaying refreshments for sale). Interesting course - can play good scores - if you are not as erratic as myself. Some challenging holes - one had to cross water twice.
To the management of the course: Please display layout (distances to bunkers, water etc) of each hole at the tee box - that will help greatly - regarding club choice etc. Hopefully you will do that. But great course otherwise.
Nice layout.
Cart girl not very friendly, dismissive to customers. Doesn't bother to get out of cart, expects golfers to pass drinks to person on other side of cart.
Ok
I few bad spots on the greens but fairways were prefect.
Overall condition,OK
Even with Golfnow discount the course is overpriced.
Great course. Leave the driver in the bag! Have to play smart. Course was in great shape.
My daughter and I enjoyed our round at Crossings Golf Club. Many holes require the golfer to play smart and utilize the right club for the yardage. The driver can stay in the bag on many holes.
Short but challenging
We had a lot of rain recently, so they weren't able to really maintain the course to pristine shape, but it was in great shape none-the-less. The guy that was working in the pro shop when I checked in was really helpful and answered any questions I had about the course. They have a nice course book too that gives a few yardages at various point on each hole. There were even a couple of rangers driving around with coolers that kept checking to make sure I had enough water to drink because it was a pretty hot day when I played. So the staff was definitely friendly and helpful here.
There really aren't too many holes where you need the driver. I got away with using my 3 wood most of the time and even some long irons on a couple of par 4s. This was my first time playing here and I definitely will be coming back to play again in the future.
Nicest Course for the Money
I can't believe this course was only $39 on a summer weekend. Very well maintained, great fairways and greens, bunkers were in a little rough conditions but there has been an extreme amount of rain in the area over the past several weeks. I would have easily paid $65-$70 dollars to play a course like this. Great layout, fairly challenging design, incredible value..... I can't say enough great things about this course for the money I paid....I will definitely be going back and I recommend this course to anyone.
wonderful layout
great golf layout and great price on golf now a must play
Good Course
Although the rate is a little high even when no one is playing the course itself has taken on the rain and improved dramatically. The greens look good although there are some spots that are bare and dirt has been exposed. The outlying area's are growing and if you miss hit say goodbye to that ball! Overall, Sunday was a great day to play and the staff is generally very friendly.
Good course to play, even after a downpour.
One of the good things about this course is it drains well. This past week it poured day after day and we were even still able to play the course at 90 degree cart rule a few days later. The course presents a challenge to the average golfer. If that is what you are looking for, take a trip to the Crossings. However, if you plan to warm up before hand, you won't be able to hear. As far as I know, there is no driving range at this course. That is really the only downside about playing this course.
Good course
The course is very nice and in good shape. A few challenging holes makes it fun.
It is interesting
there is no course map in course
I can't figure out so I was confused sometimes.
Good Value
Good Value Course. Extra tight fairways, not a driver course. Some parts of it needed touching up, especially the sand traps, but all in all a good value for $45.
