The Challenge Golf Club

Glad I decided to try this even though it's a 45-60 minute drive. It's an interesting but not impossible layout...went as a single hooked up with another player on the first tee. Another group let us play through and we made it around in 3 1/2 hours!

Have played this course many times. The only reason there’s a four star rating is the time of year and the course is in the process of making improvements. In the Summer

months this course is in great shape. The course is fair but can be a “Challenge “. Hence possibly the name. At this time the staff is taking every precaution necessary to insure adherence to health regulations regarding the covid 19 virus. Very impressive! Every time I have played this course the staff has been exceptional.

Challenge has been vastly improved in last few years. If you haven't played it recently suggest you give it a try.

I had not played the challenge in several years due to poor course maintenance.

Today I was very pleasantly surprised by the improvement and will be back very soon.

I never played this course in the winter. All the grass was dormant but seemed very well-maintained and fun to play. We played on a Saturday and was able to play as slow or fast as we wanted as it was not very busy

This wasn't my first time at the Challenge golf course. I retired to Graham NC in 2015. I don't have any golf friends in Graham so I make a tee time and each time I am sent to the first tee to go play alone. Eventually I'm trapped between 2 groups. I usually wind up walking off course and wasting money. This course needs a starter and Rangers to keep play moving. When I arrived at hole 4 there were 2 foursomes waiting for the green. I won't attempt this course again . I now belong to a golf association and will play golf elsewhere.

I suggest the Golf Course try and place single golfers with 2 or 3 golfers to cut back on course congestion.

Staff is very friendly. Fantastic course considering the winter conditions. Looking forward to playing when the fairways come out of dormancy.

This is my home course (I live on the course!). Obviously I'm fond of the course, but I believe everyone would appreciate the work they have done since new ownership. They have replaced all the greens and are rebuilding sand traps. This were the best greens of all the courses I have played this year. Great staff and amenities. Pace is great which is refreshing to experience, at least in our area. Overall a great value for a course comparable to others costing twice as much for greens fee's. This course is a must try if you get the opportunity.

I play here alot and the last reviews were good but I had noted that the bunkers were not kept up.

Well today everything was on point. All the bunkers were nicely raked and clean. This is is what we expect when playing this course. Great job to the all the staff there.

I have been to this course 5-6 times this year (2019) and it continues to be a challenging and tricky course. Playing in November can be chancy but the course was in great shape, they did some over seeding and are doing a good job of keeping leaves off the course. As I was first one out this am, I breezed through in 2 hours. And the value of this course is GREAT. I will continue to go back. Staff are very friendly.

The greens were amazing. The whole course was in excellent shape except for some of the bunkers that had water and mud in them. A fun course with a lot of variety. Not super long, some tight fairways here and there. We got an amazing deal on golf now.
