About
Lockwood Folly Country Club is a superbly conditioned, semi-private, member owned "hidden gem". The course is located at the confluence of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Lockwood Folly River, providing golfers with breathtaking vistas of tidal estuary, moss covered hard- woods and the solitude of nature. Tree lined, nonparallel fairways winding through hardwoods and pine afford a sense of seclusion while challanged with championship golf.

Golfer Reviews
Lou
Course was ok not as good as years past little rough staff was great
This course handles the weather.
Heavy rains the day before we played. This course plays well in good and bad weather conditions.
Enjoyed it
Lockwood definitely favors players who draw the ball.
The view from the 18th green is very nice.
The staff was very friendly.
Greens were okay but the fairways were very nice as were the tee boxes.
Was a hot day and all the water coolers were empty and there was not anyone at the halfway house and the drink machine did not work.
Beautiful
The 18th hole on this course is probably one of the most beautiful holes I’ve ever seen. The backdrop for the 18th green is the intracostal waterway. Course overall in pretty good shape. Some of the greens not so great
Great Value
Great value for an afternoon round. Pace of play was slow on front due to some older members, but they only played 9 holes so we played the back in 1:40. Greens had a few bad spots but they placed the pins away from the spots, and some greens were perfect. You will have to navigate some water off the tee but the hazards are well marked. Staff and bag guy were awesome. The beverage cart was by 3 times in 18 holes. Club house and views were awesome. Overall a great value.
Fun Course
A well kept course. **Make sure to grab drinks and snacks before you start, the turn is not at the clubhouse and there is no halfway house.
Fun course to play, but a few greens have some issues
This southeastern NC course is located on the intercoastal waterway. Great layout, a mix of difficulty and some really good risk/reward holes made it a fun course to play. We were greeted as soon as we arrived, and the cart attendants and the counter person were personable and appreciative of our playing their course. The fairways and traps were in surprisingly good shape for the lack of rain that NC had in May. The greens, however, were another story. Many of them had some bare patches, and they were slower than most greens on similar courses in NC. It was sad that the greens were sub-par, because the rest of the experience was definitely above par. One suggestion to players - there is a halfway house at the turn that is not staffed, so prepare to subsist on bottled soft drinks at the turn. Still, was definitely worth the money, even with the greens issues.
