Rivers Edge Golf Club

We had a great time. The staff was friendly and the course was in good shape. It's challenging, but fair. You have to hit your spots

The greens need work but I understand all of the weather conditions we've been having will be back there next year without a doubt still one of my favorite courses

This is an interesting golf experience. From dropping Off our clubs, to pro shop, to the club house, bar and views a 5 sttars.

The pace of play was possibly the worst I have ever played. We even started at 2:00 pm thinking no one would want to play in the heat. By teeing

off on tenth hole it was three hours. Played five holes on back nine and it was already 5 1/2 hours so we skipped holes to go play two holes on front

Nine. Found out there was a group of 52 in front of us.

Now the course, interesting layout but the had hazards or two on every hole. I'm not talking sand traps. Without half the hazards this would be a 4.6 experience. But worse yet, the greens were unbelievably slow, ragad and had invasion of some other grasses. You can cut the greens shorter to cover up those issues and my guess is that due to drought, heat and afternoon didn't help. I know the superintendent knows this and trying to keep greens alive.

I wlll be be going back again in two weeks for a wedding and will book some tee

Times for a second chance.

Hopefully a morning tee tome(s) will turn my experience around.

Great course. Really cool layout, great conditions, firm and fast fairways which is a cool change for a myrtle beach course. You drive it 280 and the ball could roll out to 320, makes you feel a bit like a pro lol. Awesome staff. One of the best courses in Myrtle without a doubt.

For those summer months be sure to take plenty of water in those coolers - cart girl only came around once hole one and end of 17

Great way to spend the fourth! Great staff and great golf. Everything is dry in NC but the course was still in great shape for the most part, greens were well kept.

A hidden gem. First time playing Rivers Edge and it was fantastic. Great views with a ton of character. Definitely a challenging course. Staff was great and course was in great condition. Will play again soon.

We played at 2:40 and had to wait for the group ahead of us quite a bit. Beautiful course and nice layout. Some holes are very challenging. Would definitely play again.

I’ve now played Rivers’ Edge three times recently, and each time we’ve stopped early due to pace and conditions. The last two rounds ended after 9 holes, and today we quit after 8.

Today’s pace was especially bad — 2 hours and 20 minutes for not even a full 9 holes. There were no rangers on the course to manage pace of play.

On top of that, the greens are in poor shape, making the round frustrating rather than enjoyable.

The course has potential, but until the greens improve and pace-of-play is actually enforced, it’s hard to justify playing here.

love this course, have lived in the area now for 3 years. BEAUTIFUL golf course, some of the best views waterside in the area. but why - why can't they get the greens moving? just won't keep making the trip from Southport, will frequent other places. the greens are just so slow. and it's regularly. Get them moving - it is JULY. They seem content to live off their 'beauty' reputation while protecting their greens. Sorry to see that.....

Played River's Edge as part of a Golf trip last week. The staff was extremeley friendly. The course was absoultley beautiful and in great shape, the best greens we played in our 4 rounds of the trip. We have been going on a Myrtle Beach trip for 5 years and always try to play some of the top courses in the area. River's Edge is in that class. We will definitley play again.

Have played this 'could be gem' about 6, 7 times now, since moving to the lower eastern short part of NC, in April 2022. They can never quite get the course to excellence. only 1 or 2 times have the greens been right, the rest, they have been shaggy terribly slow with nothing but excuses as to why. a whole new set today, when I called and spoke with RJ, a long time worker and apparent PGA professional. I was polite as I could be and I could tell she took offense, which is a shame. There is no reason for greens to STILL be shaggy and slow on May 9. April - OK - I will give you transition from winter to summer grass, heavy seasonal play, etc. (all the area courses deal with this). I told her to fix the problem. No need to go back at $60 or $65, I can play much cheaper coarse's with poor greens. She was even a bit snarky when I mentioned an area competitor - mocking their prices, which I told her she was oblivious about, if you are a county resident. Not a good call, not even a 'I will call you when we have the greens running properly'. a poor customer satisfaction call for sure. that said, the layout by Arnie is MAGNIFICENT. need to be hitting shots with your irons to score. Finishing 4 holes are spectacular.
