Lockwood Folly Country Club

This was the third place I played this week and by far the best overall shape. They had a harsh winter in this area and it caused a lot of damage to the greens and fairways. This coarse offers a challenging lay out that requires you to think about your tee shots. Driver is not required of of every par 4. Be careful of lay up areas off tee boxes. The staff was very friendly and beverage cart came by at least 4 times. Will definitely play this golf course again.

The greens are in just fair shape one temporary green and several others where in repair. The starter did not mention that #1 green was temporary. Golf shop personnel not friendly at all.

Frost damage on greens, but still playable. Fairways and tees were excellent. Great layout, requires every club and using your head to avoid trouble. With normal green conditions, this would be a great place to play.

Greens were slow and about 2 or 3 were in bad shape. The first hole was Bad.

When we started the round the starter told us the greens were a hybrid and were "in transition". We tried to decide if the transition was from bad to worse or other. 14 of the greens were almost unplayable from just about anywhere on them. They were burnt with big patches of black. A long putt was so bumpy the ball could bounce a cup either way. Some of the fairways had patches also, but were nowhere near as bad as the greens. Would be a nice course if it weren't for the greens.

i played here 15 years ago and it was fabulous ....... now, not so more. Playing the layout was still fun. Get back in shape.

Course conditions were a little rough. Evidently all courses in the area had suffered the same problems of a harsh winter. Course should be great when it warms up.

Disappointed in this course. Nice staff however, the course was dry and very hard, many no grass areas. The biggest complaint on a busy day, no beverage or snack service anywhere on golf course. The 9 th hole is far away from clubhouse and the turn room was closed. I would not be happy if I was a member here.

Typical conditions for this time of year, but some areas a little more beat up than other course. Greens in okay shape and fast. Fairways are a little thin in alot of areas.For the price this time of year not that bad a deal.

Have played this course several times. Good layout.it is all warm weather grass so in mid march it is in poor condition. Many areas in the rough are bare of grass with pine roots invasive in playing areas. All grass was dormant. I won't play it again unless may or after.

The course is very scenic but difficult. Definitely need to use course management skills. The starter was eager to share her knowledge of the course to the point I was getting tired of listening. Overhaul a beautiful course I will play again.

We had a good round. Fairways are not over seeded and greens are slow. Be prepared to clean and place.

Lockwood Folly is a hidden gem. The course sits along the marshlands the views from the clubhouse are spectacular. The staff is very friendly, the course layout is enjoyable and challenging. The fairways are generous but have strategically placed bunkers. The greens are in excellent shape. I played this course with males and my wife and everyone enjoyed their round.

The course is a fairly challenging layout for most golfers. There is plenty of water (hazards) to satisfy anyone. A few holes are quirky and its better to have played the course a few times to navigate it more easily. Greens varied in speed but it was still early for the Bermuda to be evenly growing and cut (late Feb). Same thing for the overall conditions of fairways and rough. I would recommend the course as it was a good value and enjoyable.

course was very nice, employees from the bag drop guy to the bar tender after the round were at best uninterested at worse just unfriendly...There were not a lot of people playing at the time we teed at noon. bag drop guy asked me 5 times over a course of 15 minutes what my group name was. We were the only group there. we had to find someone in the pro shop to pay no one around. figure out the staff an this would be a great place to play
