The Landing at Pleasant Point
About
Playing just 6,642 yards from the tips, The Landing at Pleasant Point is a pleasing play for all level of golfer, making it one of the most popular golf courses in the Hilton Head region.
A Russell Breeden design, The Landing at Pleasant Point features rolling fairways and spectacular views. One of its main draws, however, is its price tag: It's one of the most affordable golf courses in the area.
Normally in good condition, it's a golf course that will reward accuracy and punish shots of folly; it's not too hard though, with a moderate 130 slope rating from the tips.
Nature lovers will enjoy the wildlife on the golf course. You'll see plenty of critters wandering about, and perhaps even deer or alligators.

Pretty decent, and feeling pretty patriotic
Nice course- great for the cost. I got to play by myself which was really nice. The back 9 greeted me with a regular flyover of f-35s which was pretty awesome, especially after hitting a great tee shot and then seeing a flyover… but it did scare me when I was dropping an approach shot on 12.
Staff was great, but I didn’t understand why I had to pay 10 bucks to tee off early rather than the group I was with.
No food amenities but I didn’t really need it, and the greens were ok. Tee boxes need some love but the course itself was fun and playable for sure. Overall, it was better than I expected for 35 bucks with cart so no real complaint. Would definitely play again while in town to visit the in laws— but if you’re looking for a low country pristine golf experience I’d go for a different course. If you’re looking for a nice day where you can have a great pace and enjoy your time… this is a great spot. Will return- but would consider it more as a course warm up if I was going to play a more pure low country golf experience rather than making it a destination.
Can’t complain about a sub 3 hour round though.
Nice course
This course was a good find. Nice quiet area with a very friendly staff. I don’t think there is a sprinkler system for the fairways
Guys from Pittsburgh
It was a long ride from Hilton Head to the course, but it was an easy ride. The people were very friendly and the course layout was fantastic. It had water on 14 out of 18 holes, so high handicappers beware. The course was in good shape for this time of year, except for a couple of tees. The greens rolled true and took a shot very well. I was pleasantly surprised how well the course play and the pace of play was good.
A gem in the rough
Pleasant point is quickly becoming my favorite course to play in the area. It is a quiet, off the beaten path course with some beautiful scenery. I have heard the story of the course from pro shop staff and I can’t wait to see what the future holds. From what I understand, the course itself is coming back from a time of not being used for a while. Most of the tee boxes are in good shape with only a few that are a little sparse. I find the fairways are in good shape with few divots, and the greens are very evenly paced and in great shape. The clubhouse does lack a few amenities that some might want but they do have the basics covered. Tee boxes can get a little backed up mid day on the weekends but that is to be expected. Most other times, you can enjoy playing at your own pace, fast or slow. The best part of the course is the price and I feel it is one of the best values in the area. There are cheaper courses but in worse condition so Pleasant Point sit in the middle area where you can go out and simply enjoy a round of golf. I have played the course twice so far and that number will go up. It’s definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.
Playing Golf
The course was in pretty good shape except for a couple tees. The layout was great and with water on 14 out of 18 holes can make it tough for the average golfer. I would recommend playing the course.
Back nine. The 9 that time forgot.
Camping in the area. My wife and I decided to go play while there. The front nine seemed pretty nice with decent tee boxes, and Ok greens. We made the turn and it was like they got tired of taking care of the course. All of a sudden, no cart paths and greens were horrendous. Biting flies everywhere near the ponds on the holes and sparse if any fairways. They are building really nice house around the course too. I am wondering if the residents will be ok with barely average golf course as I am thinking that’s why they bought the hoses in the first place. The course could be amazing if they spent any money on greens keeping.
Awesome course. Way better than the previous reviews led me to believe.
This place was awesome. Little to no pro shop. Course was great though. Saw a small gator. Driving range was nice. Could use a putting green. The greens were hard and well manicured. Well worth the price considering what is right down the road for 5 times as much.
Nice layout with improving conditions. Great value.
Better than expected
I was a bit reluctant to play here based on some of the comments, but am glad that I did. The course is in somewhat rough shape, it’s true, but the design and beauty of the surrounds make up for it imo. With few public course options in the Beaufort area, this is well worth a visit and I will be back to play if in the area again.
On the upswing
Played here years ago and then it closed. Played again yesterday. In good shape all things considered. Fast place of play and price . Playing again tomorrow.
Course could be awesome!
Just in okay shape. The greens are slow but that’s solely based off the type of greens they have. They roll true. Good layout but unfortunately I’d pay more elsewhere for better fairways and faster greens.
has potential...
The course seems to have been ignored. The green stuff in the fairways is not grass. Greens had been aerated but not rolled and had numerous bare spots. The lady running the pro shop was condescending. Pricey for what you get...which is next to nothing. On the good side, the layout is charming and the course is in a quiet area...except when fighters from the air station are thundering overhead.
