Located just outside of Columbia, The Windermere Club sits along the banks of the lake that it takes its name from. Pete Dye designed the golf course, crafting a number of memorable holes. It's his only design in the Midlands. No two holes are alike on this challenging layout, so expect to use every club in your bag. The golf course offers a variety of risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to both low and high handicappers. There are also five, and sometimes six, tee boxes on every hole, making the golf course even more appealing for any skill level. The fairways are generous but lined with mature hardwoods and there are strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Golfers at The Windemere Club will also encounter subtle but tricky elevation changes and several lakes and ponds.

Windermere is a fun course with some very challenging holes

Windereme is one of the best courses in the area. It has some very challenging holes with a fair amount of hazards that make for a great round of golf. There is a great balance of long and short par 4's and the par 5's can be reached with strong shots. Bent greens and wide fairways make this layout fun and approachable for all skill levels. The first hole aside; this course presents a distinct character that will bring golfers back multiple times.

Tough, nice course

I've wanted to play this course for a while. I found a noon tee time on sale, so I jumped on it. We had a great time at this private course.

A Stand Out

Best inward stretch of holes in the Columbia, with stand outs including the deepest bunker I've ever been in on #10, a driveable par 4 on #14, and a closing stretch of holes playing toward, and alongside,a lake. Also worth mentioning is #9, a par 3 with a 180 yard do-or-die carry over a pond. For those looking to experience a Pete Dye design without the resort costs, Windermere is a perfect outing.

Each hole has distinctive challenges: sloping fairways, doglegs, fairway bunkers, and water that runs the length of several par 4s. Used every club.

Several greens are protected by bunkers that will make the best of golfers feel a lump in the throat. Pete Dye peppered Windermere with wonderfully fun & lengthy par 3s. One is ravishingly scenic with water separating tee boxes f.rom green .

Worst Golf Course in Columbia

No practice balls on range. Greens awful. Staff so so. Lady working beverage was nice but thats about it. Took almost 5 hours on a Wednesday. If they would pair twosomes then it would move at a better place! My dad said dont ever ask me to play the course again. Columbia has alot to offer and this course is awful! Play cobblestone, timberlake, linrick, etc! But this course should not have 4stars, two at best!
