About
Oak Hills Golf Club sits near the state capital but it doesn't feel like it's located in a city. It has a peaceful and picturesque setting. The golf course rolls across gentle hills studded with oaks, pines, and beautiful dogwoods. Some of the greens are rather undulating and a few are elevated as well. Most holes are framed by trees or water. There are some challenging holes but the layout doesn't present anything too intimidating for beginners. The golf course finishes with one of its most memorable holes. From the elevated tee on this par 5, golfers will get a panoramic view of nine different holes.

1st time playing enjoyable round
I found the green in good shape, as well as the fairway. I'm not all that good and found the course somewhat challenging

Nice layout, good value
Course was in okay shape considering the time of the year. Great layout and pace of play the day (Weekday) we played was great. Dormant grass fairways / tees boxes were rough. Greens rolled nice and held. Fun day and price was fair.
Always a pleasure @ Oak Hills
Even despite wet conditions Oak Hills is in terrific shape. Paired up easily, no wait. Get out and enjoy this challenging track just north of Columbia :)
Excellent Track
Greens in tremendous shape despite it being late February. By far my favorite course in the Columbia area. It’s a true golf nirvana; very secluded with awesome holes. Staff is super cool and friendly!
no markings on greens for front-middle- back and no ball washers
the course lacks certain amenities
the course lacks pin placement markers, also very few ball washers & no practice green.
Oak hill
Oak hill is a very good course. Good grass entire on the entire course. Greens are in great shape and roll very well.
Hidden Gem
Course has a beautiful layout, with great views. Very challenging course with lots of water. The greens were in pristine shap. Tee'd off at 8:30, pace of play was great. Never had to wait to tee off. Great experience!!!
This course not a 40 or 30 dollar course
Never played when dry, cart paths are terrible for the price you pay... needs better maintenance all around.
CRAZY SLOW PACE- 5-6HOURS!!
Pace of play was 20-25 minutes a hole. For a round that should take 3-4 hours tops, it ended up being almost SIX sloooowww hours! Really kills your rhythm and the. you cool down and loose tour focus/swing/shot. Not fun at all. Staff didn’t/wouldn’t get out there and manage the issue after multiple groups called. At times there were 4 groups on one hole!!! Crazy. Needs to change immediately.
Amazing recovery
I was simply amazed by the improvements that were made and the conditions of the greens after a difficult recovery from damage from winter kill.
Great job, Mr. Superintendent: your knowledge and hard work is showing signs that will bring the players back. I will be back! Kurt
PS: Some money was spent on making improvements in the clubhouse as well, nice job!
Course was in great condition
Pace was a little slow.... but the course was in great shape.
Good round
Was a former member and always liked the course but while I was a member It was never in the condition it is I now. Greens and fairways are in great shape and it’s a pleasure to play. There are a wide variety of holes from hard to easy to test your game.
Great Value
We needed a place close to our lodging at Lake Wateree. It was about 45 min drive but well worth the trip. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The course layout rivals some of the clubs around Aiken and Augusta. I like value and for our $42 fee... that was certainly delivered! The new Yamaha gas carts were speedy and had USB ports! The only negative is the cart paths and some of the entrances and exits to the fairways were a bit bumpy.... not enjoyable if you have a back issue... I didn’t so not a problem!
Great Shape
Course was overall in great shape. They lost one green and there is a temporary green. They were cutting the old green and looks like it will be ready very soon. I have played this course many times and always enjoy it. Good course for the price.

Every time we come to this area we always play here. Great course for the money.
