Oak Hills Golf Club
About
Oak Hills Golf Club sits near the state capital but it doesn't feel like it's located in a city. It has a peaceful and picturesque setting. The golf course rolls across gentle hills studded with oaks, pines, and beautiful dogwoods. Some of the greens are rather undulating and a few are elevated as well. Most holes are framed by trees or water. There are some challenging holes but the layout doesn't present anything too intimidating for beginners. The golf course finishes with one of its most memorable holes. From the elevated tee on this par 5, golfers will get a panoramic view of nine different holes.

Good course for good price
After aerated greens have had time to grow, the course has looked very golf. Course was a little damp from the rain the day before, but overall drained really well. Probably one of the nicer public courses in Columbia. Will play again.
Good Shape. Terrible Pace.
The course was in good shape from tees to fairway to greens. Greens had likely been punched 3-4 weeks ago and were still somewhat slow and bumpy in spots. Edges of rough were dirt and rock in spots, and cart paths were terrible. However, all of this could have been overlooked. But, pace of play was awful. 5 hours 15 minutes. No starter, no marshals. Started 10min late, let groups in front of us take forever and pro shop did not even say anything to them after several attempts to inform them of slow play. This alone did not make it worth the $40 green fee, so will likely not be coming back. Overall, good course, but be aware of time you play and possible lack of control for slow play.
Good Shape
Oak Hills is in good summer shape fairways and greens. Great value for the price.
Best in YEARS
Today's round at Oak Hills was great, albeit VERY hot. This is absolutely the best this course has looked in years. The tee boxes were cut very short and so were the fairways. I believe there was some kind of amateur tourney there today and that may have been part of it. Even with the extremely hot, dry weather we have had, the entire course is VERY green. The greens are still coming around, but they were receptive, if just a little slow. They have obviously been verticut and aerated in the past several weeks and are really improving. I would highly recommend a round here soon!
Always in great shape
This is one of the best courses in the midlands.. my favorite course!! Always in great shape even though greens were a bit fast.
Wonderful Day of Golf
Pace of play was good. Course is in very good condition. Tough greens. The back nine is really tough if you don't play the course often. The par 3's are memorable and have variety. A lot of the greens are either elevated or guarded by a creek. Pretty wide open to drive the ball. Course is in good condition--comparable to Linrick (but less shaggy), Northwoods, Timberlake. No rough on the course which is good for your average golfer. I will definitely return as soon as possible.
Looking Good
Hadn’t played Oak Hills in awhile. I was impressed. The course condition was solid. Greens were fine. I rolled the ball in the fairway but you can play it down all over. I’ve never played here where I thought that was the case. Today it was. I’ll come back. Keep up the good work.
Challenging
For the money, this course is great. Nice layout, challenging, plays longer than card. Great views. Will play this again for sure.
Always nice!
Been playing here from years and always in. Great shape. Greens and fairways bounce well. Greens roll perfect! Great job for early in the season! ⛳️
Nice Track
Second time to play here and found a good deal on GolfNow while in town for The Masters. Course was in really could shape until the rain came through. A lot of nice holes with some scenic views and challenging at times. Two different designers, one for each nine and you can tell the difference. Starter was very friendly and informative. Pace of play was a little slow but always is during Masters week. Definitely should check Oak Hills out if you have not played it.
Great in so many ways.
Oak Hills is a real gem. Contoured fairways give way to elevated greens while you take in some amazing scenery.
The course was in decent shape for early April although wet from the recent rains. Every hole had a wonderful vista from tee to green. Very inexpensive for the high end look and feel.
Personal review
Grass has not come out enough to have a good lie everywhere. Winter water wash has a lot of rock showings
Good layout, greens needs work - slow play.
Always have enjoyed the challenge and layout of this course. This day play was extremely slow for my standards (5hr round). Though an employee did come around hole 10 to apologize for the slow play. The fairways we're expectedly still growing in for this time of year and the greens we're inconsistent in roll and some had so many weeds it definitely made a difference. Maybe a couple more months and if they started rolling the greens they will be perfect. Definitely give it a try - with set expectations.
