Wedgefield Country Club

We were looking for a course between Myrtle Beach and Charleston- wanted to meet at a half way point. Found this course and it’s solid all around. This is our second time and it’s been a good experience both times. Course layout is great, the conditions are overall good, and the price is reasonable.

Course is a below average beat up municipal course. Do not be fooled by Country Club in the name, if there are members I am sure the fees are very low. Greens have large spots of dirt, crab grass and clover. Slowest greens ever which is ok for the hackers all over the course Tough to get the break read through dirt and clover. Fairways and tee boxes are beat up. Pace of play is OK but it doesn't matter no starter and no ranger so take as long as you want. Feel free to jump in front of people at the turn even if there is a backup don't grab a beer if you want to keep your spot. The bag man in the lot is fantastic, it is all down hill after that.

I played the course a few weeks ago, and was told the greens where transitioning from over seed. While playing I thought the greens where dead. Two weeks later my friends wanted to play Wedgefield, I told them the greens where dead…I thought for sure they would be worse, but I was wrong the greens completely bounced back. Course looks great.

Greens were absolutely terrible. Some type of fungus has taken the greens over. Had not been mowed in days .

The course overall has a beautiful scenic atmosphere; with up to date renovations. The course had a few bad tee boxes and greens. It may just need water who knows. I still shot well, and really enjoyed the day.

This course is a lot of fun. The course is fair yet challenging, Every hole is different with a risk vs reward- the 17th hole is a short par 5 with a narrow landing area with marsh on both sides, if you lay up it’s a 3 shot par 5. All the par 5’s are unique. It’s definitely worth playing!

Some of the greens on the back nine were in bad shape and it was only a good value for the money because I got a deal on GolfNow.

Wedgefield is worth the drive... Fun layout surrounded by nature, great food and amazing people.

Stayed here over the weekend for my first time in the area. The butlers cabin was more than I expected. Very clean, new, and felt like I was back in the 1700’s with modern amenities. Played 5 rounds over the time here. Greens were in great shape as was the entire course. Lots of gator sightings, which we lack in NJ. Food at the Brickhouse was great. The Bruni’s pizza was a hit among our group. Overall, Id definitely recommend this course for golf and overnight accommodations or both. Will definitely be back next year to see how much better they can get this course to be.

Great layout, and great overall golf experience. Every hole is different. There is a cool Pub, and everything has a historic vibe. Very different from the typical courses in the area.

While the club house area was filled with beautiful mature trees, the rest of the course was lacking some charm. Greens were slow, so they are forgiving for a newer golfer. It was quiet and peaceful play except for the gas golf carts. Overall, it was a in good condition and where else are you going to play a round of 18 for $50?
