Better than expected
Course is excellent for the price. The layout is through a neighborhood which is different rarely do you see other holes. Pace was good conditions good overall satisfied given the price.
The Founders Club at Pawleys Island
I played The Founders Club at Pawleys Island with three friends on 03/24/2026. This course is a old style parkland golf course with tree-lined fairways, natural waste areas, water. The entire course was visually appealing, and you very seldom see another hole on the course. It has an interesting layout where you cross a road thirteen times to get to the next tee. The course is really spread out and there is quite a distance between the greens and next tee. The scenery is second to none. Course is absolutely beautiful and a great place to play. One of the best I’ve played in Myrtle Beach. Course conditions were fantastic with a challenging layout with tight fairways and lots of water. The rough was still dormant which gave an interesting contrast with the deep green of the fairway. The course was in excellent shape and the greens rolled true. They have one of the best sets of par threes that I have ever played on one course. The entire staff from the bag drop to the restaurant, to the pro shop were extremely nice and professional. This was my first time playing and I would definitely come back.
Course was fantastic. Especially for end of March Golf. Starter was an amazing man, had a good chat with him. Course staff was friendly!
Felt like I was in Scotland!
What a great course! Excellent value, friendly staff and the course was beautiful!
Pace of play was off but otherwise
Great layout, nice challenge and length (whites are over 6400 yds), greens were consistent and rolled well. 5h14’ for our round was the downside with a 12:42 tee off.
Avoid this place
If you are traveling to the Myrtle Beach area and looking to play golf, avoid this place. The club has loads of tee times made available on GolfNow, but it's very obvious when you arrive that you're not wanted there as an outsider, certainly by the members and by some of the staffers. Played here with my brother, we comfortably play 18 in 3:40. Got hit into twice by members on the front 9, once on the first hole. Group behind us was up our butts the entire front half, even though they run split tees here, so we made the turn and had the wait for about 20 minutes to be able to go off on 10. We shot 72, so we're not hackers either. Course is fine, conditions were fine, people were the problem, though the guys at the bag drop were cool. Just a very unenjoyable time. If your club is going to make tee times open to the public to make more money, just treat us like normal paying customers.
A nice course at a good price!
Y9u should give a chance to this course. Great value.
It is a good old course with really nice holes, particularly 9 and 12.
Would go back!
Played yesterday!
Wasn’t notified that the greens were punched until the cart guy mentioned it…
Nonetheless, the greens rolled incredibly well.
We played among the morning member outing but never really had to wait on a shot (not for long anyway).
Very friendly staff overall. Challenging course.
Course was nice even though greens and fairways were punched on Tuesday.
Would love to play again this fall.
Founders Club
The course staff and the restaurant staff was very friendly. The course greens had been punched, but the clubhouse let me know before I paid. However, they were very slow and bumpy. I would like to play again once the greens have healed. After our first 9 we stopped at the clubhouse to get a hotdog and drink. After we return to the course at hole number 10, there was three groups of golfers that were playing together that jumped in front of us. So the back nine was not played. We just replayed the front 9 due to the heat and the wait of elderly golfers and a group of women golfers. The course layout was very nice and enjoyable., However, I would love to continue playing my round. With so many options of golf course courses, I’m not sure I will play here again, but would like to have seen the back 9.
First time, out of town
You are greeted by some of the nicest guys and they were more than helpful with directions with us being out of towners. Course is absolutely beautiful. It had poured the previous day and barely affected the course. Pace of play was slow but they explained that it’s tough with it being high traffic for the tourism. Overall amazing. Will come back.
