Back 9 awesome. Front 9, sand on greens hindering speed of putts drastically. Excellent condition otherwise
River Club - Great Layout - Need some Rain
Great layout and staff. Not as much tourist play as most courses around the area and less expensive. Drought has left some condition issues with the greens and course, but fun course to play.
Not for everyone
Extremely Narrow fairways when compared to other local courses.
Homes run right along both sides of most fairways.
Water in play on most holes.
Sand traps are large and plentiful.
I don’t mind a challenge, but you need to really thread the needle on this track.
Soft greens, dead fairways
The greens were soft and thus covered in divots and slow. No warm up facilities of any kind. Course design was good.
Nice Day at River Club
Over the years, more and more courses are neglected in the Myrtle Beach area but the greenfee keep rising. I Can tell that River Club is still a top course with a nice staff. Spécial mention to the starter from Pennsylvania who made us feel welcome. Will play again, long Life to River Club ! Money worth !
First Time At RC
This was my first time at River Club, and my first taste of low country, Pawley’s Island golf. I joined a group going out first at 7:45am. Conditions could not be better. Fairways were pure, and tee boxes were soft. Greens, although tricky, rolled true, and some were especially quick. The staff at the bag drop, starters, and inside the shop could not have been more friendly. I’d recommend this course to anyone looking for classic, low country golf, and I look forward to coming back soon.
Nice course, no driving range
Played here as part of a golf trip with friends. Upon arrival the staff is quick to get your bags on the cart. Check in etc. was fine. Got there early so we could warm up and found out there is no driving range. The course itself was nice and in good shape despite not getting a lot of rain lately. We were a group of eight (two tee times) and when the first group finished they waited near the 18 green for the other group. The starter came over and yelled at us to take our carts back immediately. Then right after that one of the cart guys had walked about half way there and yelled the same thing in a not so friendly way.

Greens had been punched a couple weeks aga not very good and Fairways were a little weathered. I guess it’s just that time of year.
