About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Good Outing
Course was busy but we finished nine in two hours. Have played a few other courses around recently and the conditions here were quite good. Will be returning soon.

Best Shape I've seen EVER!!!!
I golf at Village Greens 2-3 times per week. I have been golfing there for a little over 6 years and the course is in the best shape I've ever seen it! Cart paths are being repaired/redone and progress is great so far. The Monday "Everybody plays" dogfight is a lot of fun for those 21 and older. The Wednesday "Hump Day Hackers" for Seniors 55 and older always has a fantastic turn out! Thank you Travis and staff for all your hard work and efforts!.
Greens
Was doing work on putting in new cart paths, other than that course was in great shape! Greens were the best I’ve putted this year! Fast but not a bump in them....
Cart path crazy
While the improvements to the cart paths were necessary the construction all over the place was disruptive! Cart path only on hole number eighteen is horrible!!
We're working diligently to get everything in order. Thank you for putting up with the construction!
Great value, great time
Greens were fantastic and fast. Fairways and first cut were awesome. Course is under a bit of construction for new cart paths, but will definitely play there many more times.

Nice coarse on a nice day
The only reason I did not give the coarse a better rating is because some of the tee boxes could use work. Also, they are redoing some of the cart paths and clearing some trees. This made a little bit of an issue. besides that, coarse was in very nice shape.

Wait for the cart paths
I've played the course many times, and it's one of my go to courses. However, I would not go back until they finish repaving the cart paths ( they were sorely needed). Many sections were stripped and blocked off requiring detours that made it difficult to navigate. Lots of dust too.
The other downfall was the greens were so fast that I couldn't stop the ball. A downhill putt that missed could go by the hole 10, 15, or 25'. They need to be adjusted and pin placement considered.
When these items are addressed I will return to the good layout, friendly staff, and country feel.

I thought the golf course was in great shape. They are putting in all new asphalt cart paths, which indicates to me they are making Capital investments and are committed to maintaining a very nice golf course. The greens were in excellent condition as well. Now that I have played it once, and have some local knowledge of fairways, greens, and distances, I look forward to playing it again.

Greens and fairways in great shape
From the whites, this is a short course (5900 yards), but there are a number of holes where placement of the shot is key to a decent number. Can't bomb and gouge your way around. I was most impressed with the terrific condition of the course today, fairways to greens. The greens are some of the more interesting greens in the area, the ball rolls true and fast, and if you end up on the wrong side of the hole it will cost you. My new favorite course

Great course but needs some upkeep
We reserved a 1:40 PM tee time. We had 3 people in our group. We arrived at the tee box around 1:30, and a tournament foursome was teeing off. The tournament was supposed to begin at 1:00 PM. We had to wait for 2 groups to tee off before we finally teed off around 2:00 PM.
The course layout is fun and challenging. However, the course was in below average shape. Most greens had bare, burnt spots on them. Tee boxes were pretty beat up as well. We had fun but would have been a better experience if the course was in better shape.
