About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Good course, always packed
Be careful booking on the weekends as they tend to have a lot of events for large groups that clog the course. They’ll lump you in somewhere in between without prior disclosure. Front nine pace was okay, but back 9 took nearly 3 hours. There were 5 groups waiting on the #10 tee box at the turn, which should never happen no matter what the circumstances are.
During the 40 minutes we waited at the turn, I asked the man in the pro shop to see what the issue was. The ranger just said there’s nothing he can do- which we all know is not true. This is definitely one of those courses that will treat you differently if you book through golfnow.
Play during the week and check the event schedule.

Incredible Value
Village Greens might be the best value golf course in the southeast. Played a late afternoon round with my buddy on a beautiful Sunday and loved every minute of it. Only gripe is very bumpy cart path, but considering the price, more than willing to look the other way. The course itself, however, was beautiful and the holes present a good challenge to an ok golfer without being overwhelming. I remember being bothered by the starter last time, but only staff I interacted with this time was a guy in the pro shop who was perfectly friendly.
Really glad I came back and tried the course again. Definitely worth the scenic drive up from Greenville if you want to get away for a bit and enjoy the links.

Inconsiderate Foursome Behind Us
The group behind us stated off, on hole number 1, hitting into us. They repeated this inconsiderate behavior throughout our round. On hole 14, they hit onto the green just as we were replacing the flag stick - the group in front of us had not yet teed off on hole 15. Play was average pace, but we waited for the twosome in front of us to tee off on every hole on the front nine - they also had to wait for players in front of them. When we finished playing, I told the attendant in the Pro Shop that the group behind us hit into us perhaps ten times. His response was that that group had called the Pro Shop 3 time during their front nine to complain. We could not play any faster because we were waiting for those in front of us, and yet we finished the 18 holes in 4 hours and 11 minutes. I have an exercise app on my wrist and that was the time recorded. Normally I would not blame a course for the bad behavior of other golfers, but this course did not have a Marshal to put an end to the inconsiderate and rude play of the group behind us. I will NEVER return nor recommend this course.

Too Bad So Slow
Great layout, solid conditions, great greens. Too bad the pace of play was mind-numbing. We won’t be back.

Super service friendly
Third time playing there. For the cost I felt it was a great course. Fairways, bunkers, and greens in great shape. Probably not the most challenging course but it was a pleasure to play. I was greeted nicely in the pro shop.

Gets played alot but very fasr greens
Great course in very good shape for the amount of players they have.Cart paths need work,but they are cleaning up the course. I definitely recommend this course,beware they dont make food on sundays because of some buffet style meal,do have drinks,and snacks.

Very enjoyable.
This was my third time playing at this location. Compares to other courses in this price range I thought it was excellent. Staff really friendly.

Slow play
The course is in nice shape but play tends to be very slow. Our last round took just over 5 bourse! We even made a call to the clubhouse to let them know. They said they would send someone out to speed up some of the players but no one ever came out. This course also allows fivesomes which is ridiculous.

Slow play, fast greens and no service in the restaurant.
We played on Friday, Sept. 20th just before 10:00 am. It took us 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. I couldn’t believe they would let fivesomes on the course . There was a group 2 in front of us and another one behind us. The foursome in front of us had at least a full hole empty ahead of them. There’s a “ranger” that drives around the course, but he said nothing to the slow foursome. When I asked him about it, he commented about how many hornets there were on the course.
We finally finished our round and went into the bar for some refreshments. We were sitting at the end of the bar and asked the person behind the counter if we could get a beer. She abruptly told us that if we wanted a beer we would need to go to the other end of the bar because that’s where she takes orders. I’ve been in this bar after every round I’ve played there and this is the first time a bartender has ever not waited on us. We told her no thanks and went somewhere else for a few beers. While I may play the course again, I will certainly not go into the restaurant again.

Beautiful Course. Pace of play issues
Excited to play a course with hills since I live in Florida. Course did not disappoint. Unfortunately, had to leave the course after 15 holes and 4:45 minutes. Pace of play was horrible, had to wait to take EVERY shot. Multiple 4 somes waiting on many holes. They allow 5 somes. Would try to play again to feel the beauty of this place.
