About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Great local course
Village Greens is a great local course that’s senior friendly. The rates are good, the restaurant and bar are great and the staff is friendly. The course has a reasonable layout and is not overly difficult. My only gripe about the course is that it has undulating, fast greens. Many of the greens are simply not put table if above the hole.

This course has a little for everyone and if you like a challenge...18 I feel is the most difficult and challenging par 5 I've ever seen.

Winter golf in SC
Village Green is an excellent course . . . challenging from all tee boxes but fair. The course was in great condition considering all the rain we have had in January and December. The greens were also in great conditions
Only disappoint was due to an unexpected cold drizzle from the Blue Ridge during the front nine ... we did not play the back nine and unable to get credit at the course since we paid through GolfNow . . . (that's ok it was our decision to not play).
We play Village Green often and love the course.

Very wet
Huge amount of rain the night before made it Carr path only. Greens are fast but have some problem areas. Dormant grass throughout. Range was closed due to water. Sullys restaurant Was great. Overall good value for the money!

Nice Round
Greens were very fast. Several pins were placed in locations that resulted in several putts rolling off the green. In pretty good shape, especially considering all the rain we recently had. Friendly staff and good food at Sully's.

Pace of play was horrendous
Tee 12:44. Teed off at 1:05. No carts available. Finished 9 holes in 3 hours. Couldn’t play the back 9 because of darkness and no rain checks available due to booking through GolfNow.

Good course, always packed
Be careful booking on the weekends as they tend to have a lot of events for large groups that clog the course. They’ll lump you in somewhere in between without prior disclosure. Front nine pace was okay, but back 9 took nearly 3 hours. There were 5 groups waiting on the #10 tee box at the turn, which should never happen no matter what the circumstances are.
During the 40 minutes we waited at the turn, I asked the man in the pro shop to see what the issue was. The ranger just said there’s nothing he can do- which we all know is not true. This is definitely one of those courses that will treat you differently if you book through golfnow.
Play during the week and check the event schedule.
