Village Greens Golf & Country Club

Great golf course with very challenging holes. I’m ready to try it again!!!

The course is in nice shape but play tends to be very slow. Our last round took just over 5 bourse! We even made a call to the clubhouse to let them know. They said they would send someone out to speed up some of the players but no one ever came out. This course also allows fivesomes which is ridiculous.

We played on Friday, Sept. 20th just before 10:00 am. It took us 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. I couldn’t believe they would let fivesomes on the course . There was a group 2 in front of us and another one behind us. The foursome in front of us had at least a full hole empty ahead of them. There’s a “ranger” that drives around the course, but he said nothing to the slow foursome. When I asked him about it, he commented about how many hornets there were on the course.

We finally finished our round and went into the bar for some refreshments. We were sitting at the end of the bar and asked the person behind the counter if we could get a beer. She abruptly told us that if we wanted a beer we would need to go to the other end of the bar because that’s where she takes orders. I’ve been in this bar after every round I’ve played there and this is the first time a bartender has ever not waited on us. We told her no thanks and went somewhere else for a few beers. While I may play the course again, I will certainly not go into the restaurant again.

Excited to play a course with hills since I live in Florida. Course did not disappoint. Unfortunately, had to leave the course after 15 holes and 4:45 minutes. Pace of play was horrible, had to wait to take EVERY shot. Multiple 4 somes waiting on many holes. They allow 5 somes. Would try to play again to feel the beauty of this place.

Course is in immaculate shape, greens roll very well. Great atmosphere in the club house.

Lets start with the good.

Greens were awesome. Layout was fun. Fairways well kept. Tee boxes well kept. Awesome grill/bar. Cool pro shop. Friendly staff in both+beverage cart. Cost of amenities (beer) was also reasonable. Price of play is absolutely worth it.

What needs work.

The carts were clean, but much prefer electric and these were super slow. Pace of play was questionable, but could have been due to slowpokes ahead. Had to wait 20 minutes to start the back 9. Starter was very odd and not super personable. May be user error, but the distance on that front 9 short par 3 over the water (not 9) is questionable at best and a few other distances had me second guessing. Cart path is rough in places too.

That being said, the good significantly outweighed the needs work and i would absolutely play this course again.

Played Village Greens recently.. course was in great shape! Fairways especially. Has several tough holes...#4, #8, #13 and #18 in particular.

Greens in very good condition and very fast.

I live right next to course and have played it a few times. It is well taken care of and the greens are always in good condition but the costumer service is poor. Today the starter disrespected my playing partner and called him a liar. I presented him my receipt for paying for the round and my partner did not have one because he did not receive one at the pro shop once he paid for his round separately. The starter then said he needed a receipt which is understandable but he was highly rude about it and said he did not trust him which was highly offensive to me and him. I do not recommend this course to anybody and I may never play it again myself.

We have played this course many times this year. Today was the slowest pace of play so far. Other than that the course was in good condition as always. A very goid course that is just challenging enough.
