About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Wishes
If they ever spend the money to overseed this course in the winter, it could rank up there with some of the best. Fairways were very thin from dormancy to the point of really almost the necessity of placing your ball on a tuft of grass nearby to have a decent hit without hitting off dirt. In the winter the greens are dormant and painted “green”. They are fine in that regard, but the balls wont bite, but they roll true and fast. I don’t see a reason to overseed them, but they need to bite the bullet and overseed fairways in the winter. Yes it’s money and a full crew in winter, but the course gets plenty of play and can afford it.

Course condition was good for the time of year. Greens were in very good condition. Give it some more sun and things will really come together. Highly recommend.

My Opinion Of The Golf Course
This course is very challenging. The greens are very nice because they keep them covered in the wintertime and never have to worry about frost on a cold morning. The greens are pretty fast when putting and sometimes you have to hit the ball short of the green because it is difficult to get the ball to spin or stop where the ball lands on the green. But if you are looking for a good challenge I highly recommnend this course to you. The staff are very nice to you and the pro, Cory is a good friend. Go on out and play this course - You will really enjoy the challenge. God bless.

The positives and negatives about the course.
The greens are in very great shape because they keep them covered in the wintertime to keep the frost off of them. They are pretty fast in putting and need to land short of the flag stick to get the roll out to the hole. It's difficult to make the ball spin or stick where the ball hit. But I would highly recommend this course if you are up for a challenge. You will really enjoy it.

Better than expected
Took the 2:30 minute ride from Knoxville to celebrate my older brother 69th Birthday and play some golf. This course was a pleasant surprise. Played 27 holes in 6 hrs with a short lunch break. The course is really nice and the greens were superb. Bring your game there are some tricky holes and fast greens. This course will definitely be a return trip. The food was good too. I didn’t have the Dickey bbq but there were many that said it was really good.
You won’t go wrong with this one!

Arrive Early, Tee Off Late
My father and I had booked a twosome to play together at 12:52. We were grouped with two randoms per GolfNow's policies (I have no problem with this). However upon arrival the club professional told us our tee time had been pushed back "8 minutes" to 1:08 (16 minutes). My father and I waited to tee off with the starter as the club pro allowed some college players and himself play ahead of us. Eventually we teed off at 1:30. The entire round we were backed up behind the club pro and the two groups he let tee off in front of us. This prevented us from even finishing the round as it got dark around 5:20. Overall this was the worst treatment I've received at a golf course and don't see myself going back in the future.
We are so sorry to hear about your experience with us. We were unfortunately extremely busy that day due to the best weather we'd had in months. We can assure you that no unscheduled groups preempted your tee off. We were merely backed up getting golfers off the tee. Disappointed
3rd time playing the course. Were informed when we arrived that our tee time had been pushed out 16 minutes. When we arrived to the 1st tee, there were two 4-somes that had been moved in front of us, one of which happened to be the gentleman that checked us in, I assume he's the course pro? We wound up being 45+ minutes late and were not able to finish the final two holes due to darkness and slow play of the two 4-somes playing ahead of us. We will never play this course again on the weekend. I'm only recommending the course because of my two previous positive experiences.
Following my original post, I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted by the staff, with an explanation of the delay and offer to make things right. This has completely changed my mind about the situation and we look forward to our next round there. Along with the superior course, layout and amenities, they also provide excellent customer service.

Good, layout & variety of holes. Very good shape overall. Several Cart paths need to be replaced due totree roots. Cory is great to work with on tournaments!

Nice Course
Well groomed course with tricky greens. Course was full but still finished the round in 4 hrs. 30 minutes.
First time playing the course and I must say it’s a beautiful course. Will definitely be back to play again!
Poured down rain. Course wouldn’t give a rain check or a later tee time. Play there 5-10x a month..
