Village Greens Golf & Country Club

Village Greens was in fantastic shape! A fun course that will test your skills! A must play gem!

Village Greens is a good local course out of the city a little bit from Spartanburg. The staff was extremely friendly. The layout is really cool and fun to play, with the exception of 18 which I felt like was a little bit of goofy golf. There are several doglegs and having played the course before or playing with someone who has played the course before. There are several blind shots etc... But its fun. The course conditions were average....not bad. The greens have several spots of winter kill on them but most of them are on the edge or on the collar, so it was generally out of play. The greens rolled pretty smooth and had an average speed. The fairways were very hard due to the lack of rain in the area, so the course played shorter than it really was. Finally, 3 of the 4 par 5 holes are really short from the white tees, and I recommend playing them from the blue tees. All in all its a cool little course out in the country and it comes at a really good price.

Basically a good layout. Holes 16 and 18 excepting the course layout is nice and interesting. Hole 16 has a short layup before A water hazard, followed by a extremely steep uphill approach shot. Finishing hole is a double dogleg par five with a very tight landing area on the second shot followed by a steep uphill approach to green. Our round was less than 4 hours, with no waiting. The greens had been top dressed and rolled with light sand- greens rolling nicely. Fairways are greening up nicely. Check in and restaurant staff were very helpful. Some heavy rains had taken a hit on the bunkers. This should be rectified soon. Cart paths are in need of some repair. Notwithstanding, the layout and serenity make for a nice track in the country.

You can’t beat the price on a Monday with a twenty one dollar cost. I would recommend it to anyone.

I got rained out unfortunately and didn’t receive a refund from GOLFNOW EITHER! Not very happy about that as it rained just as my tee time wasn’t coming up. Course looked ok but average.

The the staff did not really know what they were doing it was a bad day all the way around they were very unorganized overbooked with golfers need to be more organized

If they ever spend the money to overseed this course in the winter, it could rank up there with some of the best. Fairways were very thin from dormancy to the point of really almost the necessity of placing your ball on a tuft of grass nearby to have a decent hit without hitting off dirt. In the winter the greens are dormant and painted “green”. They are fine in that regard, but the balls wont bite, but they roll true and fast. I don’t see a reason to overseed them, but they need to bite the bullet and overseed fairways in the winter. Yes it’s money and a full crew in winter, but the course gets plenty of play and can afford it.

Course condition was good for the time of year. Greens were in very good condition. Give it some more sun and things will really come together. Highly recommend.

This course is very challenging. The greens are very nice because they keep them covered in the wintertime and never have to worry about frost on a cold morning. The greens are pretty fast when putting and sometimes you have to hit the ball short of the green because it is difficult to get the ball to spin or stop where the ball lands on the green. But if you are looking for a good challenge I highly recommnend this course to you. The staff are very nice to you and the pro, Cory is a good friend. Go on out and play this course - You will really enjoy the challenge. God bless.

The greens are in very great shape because they keep them covered in the wintertime to keep the frost off of them. They are pretty fast in putting and need to land short of the flag stick to get the roll out to the hole. It's difficult to make the ball spin or stick where the ball hit. But I would highly recommend this course if you are up for a challenge. You will really enjoy it.

This course is a great course wide open fairways and well manicured greens. I Love this course.

I have played this golf course numerous times and consider it my home course! It’s always in fantastic shape! Keep up the great work Travis and staff!
