Village Greens Golf & Country Club
About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Village Greens is Great
Always a great course to play. Challeging and fun. The staff is always friendly and helpful.. Great course.
What an awesome course!
I have been meaning to play this course but never found the right time. I found out what I've been missing! From the first tee to the last putt this course is an absolute gem; a fair mix of challenging to moderately difficult holes and no two holes are the same. The Bermuda fairways provided perfect lies, the rough was manageable and the greens were fast and true. I will definitely be back to play again! This is a"must play" course if you're in the area.
Great course
Course is amazing!!
Rangers should patrol course more. Course was full and pace was slow due to a lot of foursomes but doesn't mean groups should drive in on you while you are waiting your turn in fairway. My group of a threesome was almost hit while waiting our turn behind a foursome.
Home Course
Love the course it is challenging, greens and fairways in great shape. My only complaint is (and this only applies in the cold months) is 18 is a par 5 dog leg left and you have a lay up area that stays wet during that time and its just about impossible to lay it up without plugging the ball, the water run off is terrible I've often wondered why they don't bring in some fill dirt, most of the lay up area is on a slight slope down hill from the edge of a pond and the bank is only a few inches higher than fairway. Not intending to trash these guys they do a great job out there
Great course for intermediate golfers
This course is well-maintained and is for average to advanced golfers. There are some very fun holes.
Great course
My one critique here is if i book a tee time for 12:44 p.m. i would like to have a cart and tee off at or atleast right around 12:44. I mean come on game aint cheap bruh! Running out of carts?
Alot of fun. enjoyable
This was my first visit to Village Greens. I was paired with a very nice group. We played from the white tees and even though I have lost a little distance over the years, I am now 56 years old, I was able to reach 3 of the 4 par 5's in 2 fairly well. The 18th, which is a par 5 is a bit awkward because of its configuration. But, I have played much worse so, it was ok. I think I could play from the back tees and still enjoy myself. The greens were in good condition and pretty fast. I like that! The fairways were in good shape as well. Overall, I really liked the course and will play it again. Maybe this coming weekend!
Village Greens
Very friendly staff, course is always well maintained. Played on a Tuesday afternoon and had the course to myself. The food is excellent at the barbecue restaurant on the property Playing here is always a pleasant experience.
Nice
Enjoyed the course. Second time playing here. Played alone. Was let through by every group except for a 3-some on 16. However, they played well, and it didn't cause a major delay.
Course was in nice shape. Definitely will play here again.
Not A Great Course
Although the weather was nice, the course was not in great conditions. I only played this course because of the price using Golfnow. I am not a fan of this course but in golf, every golf course will not be up to par. Therefore, you learn to take the good with the bad.
Terrible Conditions
I played this course after it had rained that night. We went out early in the morning and the course was in terrible condition. Holes were damaged and I believe it's because they were from the previous day and had not been switched. I called the pro shop to ask if the greens had been aerated and they told me no. Which was a lie. They lifted there aerification alert on Wednesday after they punched them on Monday. This was told to me by the staff in the pro shop. I would not play this course again even though it's a pretty good value.
Need a new starter
A friend and I came this morning to play. We just got in our cart and went to the starter but he drove off. There was a line at hole 1 so we go to 10. Nobody on the hole, nobody behind us. We could have played the back 9 no problem. As we get to the tee box he rides by and fusses "who said ya'll could start here?" So we pull back to number 1. There is people still hitting but we get out of the cart and he fusses "ya'll need to hurry up!" So am I supposed to drive one right on top of someone? We spent $42 a piece to be fussed at before we even tee off on #1? Course looked great and dickeys tasted great. Such a shame to let it all ruin for the starter.
NIce course
Nice layout, can be very challenging in you end up in the wrong place. Had a new starter... interesting character.
Course is in great shape
Course was in great condition tee to green. Greens rolled excellent. if you play early you will run into the grounds crews mowing
Fun course in great shape
I played there for the first time with my dad this past weekend and we had a great day. It's a very unique layout with plenty of challenging shots but not so tough to take the fun out of it. The course was in great shape, and the pace of play was perfect. It's not the longest course in the world but the layout with all the hills and bends made it feel longer. I enjoyed having to stratigize with my shot selection instead of just bombing a drive and wedging it in on every hole. Overall I was very pleased as it is a great value for the money and a unique course to play. Of course the BBQ is awesome and a must have. We will be back soon and often.
1st timet
Nice course. Couple of tricky holes. Plays longer than listed. Make sure you get a BBQ sandwich after the round.
Nice Course
Well laid out. Challenging but not ridiculously difficult. Scenic. I was impressed enough to get a membership
