Village Greens Golf & Country Club
About
Village Greens Golf Club sprawls across over 100 acres of what used to be farmland situated between Inman and Gramling. Remnants of the old farm can be seen throughout the course, including pear trees from the original orchard that line the 10th fairway. When the golf course was built in 1969, many new trees were planted but much care was taken so as not to obstruct the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, providing nearly every hole with views that stretch from Glassy Mountain to Chimney Rock. The layout has a classic design that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. Sparkling lakes and ponds accent the landscape, coming into play on a few holes. Village Greens Golf Club's most memorable water hole is the course's signature sixth. This short par 3 features a semi-island green that is surrounded by water on two sides, along with three bunkers and out-of-bounds on the right.

Happy Golfer
Nice course, very good BBQ. Grass is still brown on 3/2. Great southern hospitality. Can't wait to come back when grass is green.
Nice Greens
Very windy. Couple Greens the ball would roll off the green if it didn't go in the hole. Play was slow.
Great course
Very accommodating staff. Dickies barbq restaurant is always great. Greens were in great shape for winter and so were fairways.
Village Greens is a fun, challenging course
Village Greens is a fun course, but a challenge, with all the water. The water is pretty, and glad it is there. There rate a few blind shots, so we are looking forward to our second time to play.
Short course, greens firm and putted true. Course was packed took around five hours to play.
Have played here several times in the past. For the most part the course does play short, just keep it in the fairway. Has a few sharp doglegs that are fun to play. Some short par three's over water. 18 is a par five that for most players should be a three shot hole it is a long way to the dogleg left. The course web site has a hole by hole summery to help you know what you are getting into on each hole and the best plan of attack. The club house has a BBQ joint in it called Dicky's.
The course is in GREAT shape, with true smooth greens
This course is one of my favorites within a 40 mile radius, and the first place I bring my out of town guests. It is always in fantastic shape; It's not extremely long, but has slopes that you need to account for on your drives [unless you hit them dead-center], or your approach shots WILL be out of the rough - which is deep (and always requires at least 1 extra club). The greens are big, but roll fast and true - so longer putts can be made as long as you read the breaks (because not one is flat). All of this sounds "normal" for a well-scored round on any course - but this one is a fun and fair test. I will say - the double dog-leg up down then up again par-5 18th requires all of your attention - a finishing hole like few others (and haunts me every time).
Wonderful layout. Course in great shape. Nice clubhouse.
We had a very good time. Would play this course more often if it was closer to Greenville, SC.
Nice course
Wonderful course. I have played it several times. The only reason I could not give a five star overall rating is: The ENTIRE course was DRY including the very low levels, but somebody deemed that about half the holes must be played 'cart path only'.
This, to many people isn't a problem. But with the problems I have with my back it was incredibly painful for me to play the last seven holes. I couldn't quit because of the person I was playing with on that day. Somebody needs to practice considerably more common sense than they portrayed. My wife and I may play there again someday, but I honestly doubt it.
Challenging in a good way!
Course presents plenty of challenges but not impossible to play. Staff was very helpful as it was the first time I had played this course. Holes are all very close together so good and bad there. Saw several players from other holes hitting their mis-hits from out of the fairway I was playing. Being only 10 minutes from my house will definitely play here again.
The Greens where fantastic.
The Green was in the best shape I have ever seen them. The value for the money was very good. The staff was friendly and the food at Dickies was also very good. The only issue I had was the arrangement of players. There was a two some in front of us and in front of them a walking foursome with a fifth player joining the walking around the 11th hole. There was 2 open holes in front of them and they wouldn't let anyone play thru. I would have liked a ranger to come in and move things along, I have to admit that the course was in great shape, it was a beautiful day, but the waiting between shots just about ruined the match for me as to the point of not even playing the last hole, starting tee time 8:28- 12:50 only to the 17th hole, no stopping at the turn either. Once again a great place to play just as long as you don't have a walking 4-some going off the front around the same time.
Greens were perfect
From the white tees, this course puts a premium on accuracy over distance. Three of the four par 5's can be reached in 2 with a decent tee shot, which is always fun but can slow down the pace of play. Most of the par 4's don't require a driver off the tee unless you want to be aggressive. The greens were some of the best I have ever played on, especially in this price range. Pace of play was a little over 4 hours, which is pretty good for a Saturday morning.
Great course for the money.
The course was in great shape. Nothing bad to say about it. Greens were nice, fairways were nice, tee boxes were nice, golf cart was nice, and unfortunately, the bunkers were nice too.
extra care taken on course-all treed areas mulched-looks great
I have played Village Greens several times, and have always been impressed with the course condition and the staff friendliness.
They take good care of their guests.
Well maintained course.
The course was well maintained and it has a nice practice area and putting green. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a nice restaurant available.
Excellent Value
Solid course with mostly excellent greens except for where some excess rain had caused some issues. Overall happy with my round and broke 80 for the first time!
Course was in great shape.
Village Greens has done a great job in keeping their course in very good shape over the past several years.
great green and fairways.

this is our new weekly course, thinking about joining as a member.
