Good course, good time, good value.
Had the run of the course on a football Saturday. Course in very good shape. A challenging course on a windy day. As other reviews noted, the cart paths need work but not a big deal for me. I certainly will go back to play and recommend this course to others.
Better
I have played this course several times I. The past few years. Fairways were the best they have ever been. Greens are hard to hold and very slow. Enjoyed the round better than in the past as to conditions .
Don't Play on Saturday if...
Be ready to share the course with the college teams if you plan on Saturday or during the golf season. The college players use most of the putting practice area, all of the driving range and they enjoy using several greens to practice while you are playing.
Good time
Played by myself. Course was in good shape after Florence rain. Finished in 3:15. I enjoy playing this course, even with a little longer drive.
Very disappointed
First off the staff was really nice and extremely helpful but unfortunately that was about it.
The driving range is a joke, they give you the balls in plastic bags.
The cart path is the worst I have ever seen.
Tee boxes were in fair condition and the fairways were pretty good.
The greens rolled nice but there was A LOT of grass mowed left behind around the green which made it take away from the actual niceness of them.
The course layout was good.
I live on Cobblestone so maybe have high expectations but unfortunately I did not feel like this is anywhere near a "country club" and not worth the money!
First time playing this course. Course is in fantastic condition and for the price you can’t beat it.
Enjoyable round
Finished in 3.5 hours, had a nice time. Good course, planning to go back.
Well Worth It
This is a fun course to play, not too easy and certainly not overly penal. The fairways are in as good a shape as any course within 50 miles, and the greens run true and at moderate speed. The course and the GolfNow Hot Deal made it well worth the hour drive to get there.
Enjoyed the round
This golf course is a hidden gem within Newberry county. Fairways were in great shape even after severe storms the night before. Sand traps were waterlogged because of the storms. Sand traps surround most greens which make approach shots challenging. Greens were in good shape. Definitely on my list of courses to play again!!
Great design but...
Country Club of Newberry had a great layout but the course was in need of some TLC—tender loving care.
No difference between rough and fairway. Crabgrass everywhere.
Nothing special
Sorry, average course not good enough for me to recommend
Nice Winter Day on the Links
The course was in reasonable condition for the winter except for the traps. Wet in spots. Had to play thru a couple of slower grps.
enjoyable
Course in reasonable shape. Pace was just right.
Sand traps need some upkeep.
Fun course to play.
Great pace of play, great weather, good course conditions. A fun day.
Through the pines.
Nice typical Southern course meandering through the pines. Not a hard course to play, but fun! Plenty of room in the fairways and very little out of bounds markers. Greens are medium speed, but roll nicely. Staff was very friendly and courteous. I would recommend highly especially using the Hot Deal!
An excellent hidden gem. Worth the trip from Columbia. Friendly staff and locals. Course in very good condition; better than many upscale courses in the area.
Good Value
The course is in reasonable condition. Pace was great - no rush. Snack shop friendly & well stocked.
I was pleased
Worth the drive from Columbia. Course was well maintained. Greens rolled true. We will return.
Not bad for the $
Relatively short course. Greens had been sanded so were firm and fast. Have played better and far worse courses. Not much of a country club feel though, facilities could use some work. Will play it again however.
