Country Club of Newberry

We have played here off and on for over 20 years. While the layout and staff are good, we can see some downturn in the conditions. The carts are getting old and need attention. Also, they had mowed the fairways and rough after many days of no mowing. This left large clumps of cut grass all over the fairways and rough. Some of this was on the greens. While this was the first time we played here in over 10 years, we were disappointed in the course condition. We will probably never play here again.

Second time playing course. Fairways and greens in very good condition. Will definitely play again.

This course was in great shape - the greens were a little slow, but because they are undulating, they were as fast as they should be ! Any faster wolud have made it very difficult to stay on the greens!

Newberry CC is an older course. Could be in better condition but is better than some on the Golf Now site within 50 miles of Columbia. Some interesting holes and is not an easy course.

Firstly a complaint. We booked 3 rounds on GolfNow the night before play. It was a regular tee time (not a hotdeal) however the course had no idea that we had booked and had double booked the time. Not sure that the course is made aware of when times are booked but there is no reason I should have to prove that I booked online.

The lady at the front desk was on her cellphone when I arrived. I had to get her attention to put the phone down.

Moving on to the course.......Really really good for March and greens in good shape. 90% of the bunkers were in excellent shape but about 50% of the tee boxes needed some attention, but that is to be expected​ in the winter.

Overall a decent day. Grill was closed (on a Saturday?!?!)

Great old Southern course that meanders through the pines! Good course for beginners as the layout is fairly wide open!

1st time playing here in many years. A lot of landscape changes look great. My wife and I enjoyed it and will be back.

Course is laid out nicely with a good mix of easy and more challenging holes. Would be an easy walking course. Enjoyed the round very much and will definitely play it again.

As I drove up I said to my playing partner this Is a very old traditional golf course. I did not expect the course to be from 1922. 95 years old and a beautiful lay out. Great walking course for the young people. Look forward to playing again in the near future.

Due to the weather there was nobody on the course. It was great day! Quickly played the round. Liked the course was great for me with a good mix of par 3 and 4's. Greens were quick.

Newberry is in good shape and a fun course to play

Everything went well until our threesome got behind a fivesome on back nine. We waited on first three holes and then came to par 3 where we expected them to allow us to play through. Nope ! We then skipped a hole in order to pass the inconsiderate bunch!

We will never play here again. Staff was less than friendly! We were stuck behind what seemed to be locals who never invited us to play through even though it was 3 of us and 4 of them. We were waiting on them the entire Day! Never again at this Place!

Nice fairways, good rough, nice greens, good layout, tee boxes need a little work but definitely an amazing value for the money!

Newberry country club is a wonderful golf course. Management friendly n wonderful pace on the course. Also during the times I've gone to play, not as congested. Love the course look to play there again. Oh...one experience I did have that I didn't agree with was that after had played 18 holes n wanted to play another 9, I was to be charge the full price as charged for the 18, so I (we) wouldnt play another 9. Oh well...

Couldn't believe our twosome finished 18 holes in slightly over three hours on a weekend. Course was in good shape - greens need a little work but it looked like the greenskeeper was working on them. Our first time but surely won't be our last.
