Really like this place
Great people, fun to play here .The people I meet here always seem to genuinely good hearted . It’s good to play golf with & be around people like this.
NBY Country Club has improved improved greatly since the last trip there l!
I enjoyed the course, and greens were in pretty good condition.
Fun short layout
First off, the pro shop and snack bar location has a great atmosphere with the cobblestone structure and overlooking a pond and the 18th green. The first tee is pretty much located in the parking lot and you have to hit across the drive way which is pretty cool.
The course itself has rolling hills with some but mild elevation changes, which is mostly on the front 9. The front 9 holes are located very close to one another. The fairways themselves are pretty wide with pines running along side majority of the holes. The back holes are little tighter with the tree lines but has a beautiful little par 3 13th, tee box is lined with rose bushes and uphill 150 yard shot with a big tree on the left. The course is only 6066 yards from white (one up from tips), so they can be a lot of scoring opportunities if your driver and wedge game is on.
We had a lot of rain to the days leading up to play so the course was wet and so were the greens, but the greens rolled good and probably would have been a challenging speed if were dry. The greens had some good undulation to them as well. They looked like the holes haven’t been changed in a while though, but that might have been due to the rain and/or the COVID situation.
The course is an hour drive for me and I got a $25 rate thru golf now. I will definitely be back, and would play the course more if closer.
Good course
Course conditions continue to improve. Great pace. Good time had by all.
Fun course to play
The course is coming in well. Pace was excellent. Doing a good job under this COVID-19 restrictions - one person to a cart.
Great Track
The course I'd in great condition. My only issue was I was playing as a single my second 18 and got caught behind two groups of 5. They were on back to back holes so it took almost an hour before the even let me pass them. That's my only issue I've ever had at this course.
Relaxing Round
Country Club of Newberry is a nice relaxing place to play a round. Right now (early March) the grass on the course hasn't started to grow, so there's a lot brown grass as you'd expect. That said, the course is in as good a shape as you could expect (without overseeding).
I would like to see them work on their bunkers. The sand is low and packed hard in a couple of them.
Good Track
Good Track good conditions. Just not enough range balls was my only complaint
Wet but fun
The course had seen several inches of rain the previous week but was in decent shape. It is a fun and challenging course to play. Not busy at all.
Quiet day
It was a quiet day. Not many folks on the course. Windy & overcast - made putting & driving a challenge
Old Club House
I love the Old Club House and the course layout. If you like to work the ball it is a fun course. The staff is very friendly. Only complaint whoever changes the hole locations need some training or new equipment. The old hole locations are not level.
Still looking good.
Course is looking good while recovering from all the storms recently. Fairways and greens are in very good shape. Always a challenge for me.
Great Course for the price!!
My Buddy and I love going to this course. For the most part it was in great shape- We played in 3 hours and then ate in the Clubhouse. The Manager is always super nice!! For 25$ on Saturday I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t go- we’ll be back.
