Greens were inconsistent and several were in bad repair
Reliable
I’ve played this course multiple times and I always have a good time. I consider this my home course as the prices are always great and the pace of play is amazing as the course isn’t that popular. The course has a beautiful layout for being pretty much in the middle of nowhere on the edge of Spartanburg. The uphill fairways offer a challenge that I find fun while improving every time I play. The only issue is the greens can be a little rough with recent punches and bald patches, but management seems to be trying to make improvements as of late. Overall, I love this course and will continue to return.

Much better than before!
I left a bad review here about 6 months ago. I’m currently playing as I write this review. The golf course looks at least five times better than I’ve ever seen it before. The fairways are cut and full, tee boxes look fairly well, and the greens are rolling nicely. There is a few bald spots here and there, but for the most part, the golf course is in good shape. I will be back.
Don’t let that green keeper go! As a matter of fact give him a raise. It’s obvious he takes pride in his work!

Poor experience
I have tried for several years to support this course but won’t be going back. Booked a tee time at 250 arrived at 245 and there were no carts. I waited 20 min for a cart. Many groups playing with groups of five which shouldn’t be allowed on key days. No starter and the guy working certainly has no interest in golf or customer service. In addition the course is in awful shape. Overgrown weeds on all the fairways. Again I have really tried to support this course but until improvements are made to the overall experience I won’t be returning.

Lots of potential
Really need to hire a greens keeper. Fairways in rough shape. The course could be great but needs a lot of work. Weeds in the fairways, tee boxes beat up, and cart paths need work. Used to be one of my favorite courses.

On going renovations
This was our first trip back to Palmetto for two years, as well were very disappointed with the condition of the course. Conditions have improved but still below expectations. Will not go back again umtil late thia season or next season.

Value course
Great price. The course could use some work overall.. Overall the tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in pretty rough shape. I’ve always supported the course but needs an overhaul to keep people coming back.

Hit deal maybe but take a lunch
I wasn’t sure of course drove a hour, want be back first thing was no range balls, my son loves to warm up at a range , no range balls, then no carts no, five minutes after my tee time finally got a cart . My tee time was taken by the person behind me he had a cart. My son and I made the best of our day together. Nice people but I thing they were overwhelmed today.

Not great
Hadn’t gotten to play in a while. Sun came out on a Saturday and I started looking for a last minute round. Not a lot available on Saturdays so I went with this place bc they had plenty of times available. Based on this and previous reviews my expectations weren’t very high. And the course just about met my expectations. It’s not in very good shape. A lot of weeds everywhere. Greens with a lot of Poa in them. Slow and bumpy in spots. The layout is actually pretty interesting. Very hilly and a lot of elevation changes. But it’s in such rough shape right now. It needs alot of work in order to be in good shape. And they are doing some work. Bc there was heavy machinery sitting in the middle of the 17th fairway. I probably won’t go back unless in the same boat where I’m looking for a cheaper last minute round at a busy time.

Needs Work
Course needs some work. Fairways are patchy and made up more of clumps of grass on a lot of holes rather than a consistent lawn. Greens need the most work though. Lots of bad spots on them and almost no grass to hold the ball from just rolling forever even on good shots. I did see the course seems aware of these issues and is addressing them, so hopefully that happens by the next time I try to play again.

You get what you pay for.
The course is one of those unplanned golf day courses. It’s laid back so don’t tuck your shirt in. I’ve seen the course in better condition. It recently sold and they have tried to update a few things but it seems like they started a new project before finishing the previous one. Make sure you bring your own tees and balls unless you want to play with Walmart balls. The course layout isn’t bad. If you are playing with a friend who’s hitting top flight irons this is the perfect place to shank em.

Needs work
Greens were decent but tee boxes and fairways / other areas were in pretty rough shape. Very hilly . Several blind tee shots. Fun course , could use some work.

Get what you pay for
Ran out to carts. Had to wait past tee time. Disappointed . Was a busy day of golf being 64 degrees in November. Just needed to be organized. Course was in ok shape. Been to worse. Get what you pay for deal.
