The 18-hole Whispering Woods Golf Club in Whispering Pines, North Carolina is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dan & Ellis Maples, Whispering Woods Golf Club measures 6324 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 70.8 USGA rating.
The semi-private course offers challenges to both the intermediate as well as the accomplished player. The course rambles over undulating terrain which is carefully maintained by the caring staff. The greens are known for their conditioning and the course is a favorite for annual returning golfers. This is a track with alot of character.

The staff was not friendly the greens were great fairways looked like my front yard grass no grass to hit off of dirt track
Layout
Greens are fast and true some a bit bumpy but overall nice course
Good course, wrong time.
The layout and design of the course is well done.
Due to large amounts of rain in days ahead of play the fairways were in pretty rough shape. Very muddy and some places just completely neglected. Hard bunkers full of earlier.
The greens however appeared to be the one part of the course that was properly maintained. They were in pretty great shape.
Overall I enjoyed my round on the course and I look forward to coming back once everything is in better condition.
This course is great for practice and taking your time golfing.
The greens were in good shape but overall course needs some work- back nine in better shape than the front... front very little grass. However, good course to practice your game as you can play at your own pace and play 2 balls without anyone behind you. The front 9 has some very interesting holes! I do enjoy playing the course and the staff is very friendly.
Great course for the price
Reasonable rates. Friendly folks especially Roger. Good layout and fast greens. Fairways should come in during the Spring. Tuff pin placements. Overall, this course and staff is very good! It's especially priced for everyday golfers who might be on a limited budget. Best kept secret in the Pinehurst area.
Good afternoon round
The course is undergoing a lot of upgrades and work to help with drainage. Some of the fairways still need to be evened out. The back nine is in better shape than the front. I look forward to seeing what it looks like under the new management and once it wakes up from winter.

Great value at $20 for 18 holes and cart.
January conditions as expected, but greens were in great shape.
Not great, we won’t be coming back.
The lack of cart paths make for a very bumpy ride and where there are paths, they are terrible!! The staff member we dealt with was extremely rude. Last time we had a younger man in the clubhouse who was kind but this time we had an older gentleman who was so rude to us. We will not be coming back.
