Greens were in good shape, course was a little wet and rough. I know it has new owner and things will take time. Will check it out next year to see improvements
Good setup and greens
Lots of ups and downs solid course good greens some challenging holes some easy overall very good course.
Decent
Layout was great. Greens were great. Fairways were a little long and tee boxes were in really bad shape. Not a long course at all. Would recommend playing back tees if you have any distance. I can’t express how bad the tee boxes were.
Great old school course
Very difficult course due to narrow fairways and mushroom greens, but so very enjoyable to play! Greens in great shape but the tee boxes could use a little love! For the money, you would be hard pressed to find a better more challenging course. Guy at the counter wasn’t the most friendly, but I didn’t come to talk to him I came to golf. This is an old school course and an amazing place to play
Staff doesn’t want to be there
The staff act like they are doing you a favor by being present. We asked to get an extra cart for a noon tee time which is never a problem at any other course I play at. The guy at the check in window acted as if I asked him for a kidney despite the fact I started the conversation with “ I need to pay for an extra cart.” He went off on a tirade about not calling ahead for an extra cart. Apparently when we reserved our foursome they only charged two carts for they noon tee time and didn’t charge any other carts.
Whispering Pines Rnd 1
Interesting layout with narrow and wide fairways, significant elevation differential and challenging green locations. Tee boxes need attention with alternate tees on the 7th. Older course, no doubt in season with greater attention and more rain, a great experience. Not so much on this round. Overall, the challenging layout makes it a recommended play. You will have a good time however there are more spectacular courses in the area. Off-course amenities were open however limited due to Covid19. No on course amenities such as mobile carts or rest rooms
Very nice cource
Greens were in excellent conditions. Fairway was in good condition except for two holes. Good challenging course. Strongly recommend.
Much Better, Thank you
Women's tee boxes were much better today. Thank you for giving them some love.
Please Care:(
This course could be one of the better ones if someone CARED about the up keep of the tee boxes and middle fairways that are all sandy. I don't recall it being this unkept when I was here a year ago.
The ladies tee box grass was so long I have to tee up higher to see my ball. Very disappointed.
Not a bad course.....
but the tee boxes were a mess and they had the whites, yellow and reds very close together on a number of holes and some were not placed well considering your line from there. Other than that, a nice course. The greens were good.
Excellent Greens
Course is taken care of very well. Cart paths need some work.
Never Again
As recent new owners in the Sandhills, we wanted to play every course we can. While CoVid, was in effect, were met by a surly, male Pro Shop person, who mandated what cart we could take (No one else was at the golf course), and just had zero people skills. This was diametrically opposite, to the large, posted sign outside, that said, "Welcome to the SandHills friendliest golf course"?
Nice track
worth the money, conditions are decent but beware of tree roots. Wish they had a driving range but a fun little course.
Nice course
Good challenge. Recent very heavy rains have caused some washout areas, but did not really affect our play on this day. Hopefully these washouts will be addressed quickly. Some tight holes, which make this a challenging course.
