Much Better, Thank you
Women's tee boxes were much better today. Thank you for giving them some love.
Please Care:(
This course could be one of the better ones if someone CARED about the up keep of the tee boxes and middle fairways that are all sandy. I don't recall it being this unkept when I was here a year ago.
The ladies tee box grass was so long I have to tee up higher to see my ball. Very disappointed.
Not a bad course.....
but the tee boxes were a mess and they had the whites, yellow and reds very close together on a number of holes and some were not placed well considering your line from there. Other than that, a nice course. The greens were good.
Excellent Greens
Course is taken care of very well. Cart paths need some work.
Never Again
As recent new owners in the Sandhills, we wanted to play every course we can. While CoVid, was in effect, were met by a surly, male Pro Shop person, who mandated what cart we could take (No one else was at the golf course), and just had zero people skills. This was diametrically opposite, to the large, posted sign outside, that said, "Welcome to the SandHills friendliest golf course"?
Nice track
worth the money, conditions are decent but beware of tree roots. Wish they had a driving range but a fun little course.
Nice course
Good challenge. Recent very heavy rains have caused some washout areas, but did not really affect our play on this day. Hopefully these washouts will be addressed quickly. Some tight holes, which make this a challenging course.
Staff
I’ve been to this golf course 5+ time in the last months. I like the course. It’s a good corse to work on your game. However, everytime I check in I’m greeted with an attitude from the staff because I booked online instead of with them. Other than that. It’s the best deal for 18 holes in the sandhills.
Getting worse
I went here about 3 months ago and the tee boxes and fairways were pretty decent. Nothing terrible. Greens were always fast. However, just went again 4th of July and it is getting worse fast. Some fairways were almost completely sandy and dead. Greens were completely dry and ball ran ridiculously fast. Course layout has so much potential but the condition is getting worse quickly.
Hills & Valleys
The layout is challenging and varied. Greens were cut very short and were FAST. The fairways were just OK; lots of unintended gulleys and bare spots. Considering the amount of rain we have had, I expected lush fairways. They were not.
Great value
Nice course and great value on Hot Deal. The restaurant isn’t open on Sundays or Mondays so make other arrangements on those days. It wasn’t crowded when we played and the leisurely pace was enjoyable.
Pro shop management
Terrible customer service. Absolutely atrocious person who apparently was mad to be working on Sunday evening acted like he didn’t want me to tee off at 3:30 because “the carts had to be in by 8:20”. Then he wouldn’t give me a rain check after I only played 9 holes with my kids!!! And he charged me 80 bucks and this course was 2 steps up from a goat field. Although I will say the greens we excellent. Will never return and will be contacting the owner about the horrible customer service.
Not worth the hour drive
They claim only ONE PERSON working and that is the reason the rules of golf edict could NOT be enforced. Golfers skipping holes to avoid waiting and causing jam ups in future holes. Golfers were just left to do whatever they wanted.
Two golfers in one cart sharing one set of golf clubs,,,,REALLY????
You should be ashamed and embarrassed.
GolfNow take note please. You can do better!
Not bad for budget minded golfers
Being a budget minded golfer this course suited me just fine. Yes the cart paths are rough in many areas but just slow down over the bumps and you will survive. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Played the ball down the entire 18. The greens were not PGA tour quality but rolled good and I managed to make a few good putts. Shot a 78 with a triple bogey, a double bogey and 2 birds. I would play this course again if in the area in the future.
Not what I was expecting
I played this course in March and was rather pleased with the condition of the course coming out of winter. My club is closed for the greens to be punched and I found a time that worked for my dad and me. I talked the course up on the ride there and as soon as we stepped into the first tee I was surprised.
The tee boxes all were very worn and seemed almost dead. The grass reminded me of winter dormant Bermuda.
The bunkers were very packed. One would have to take feet and twist them hard to break the surface to place the ball for a fair lie.
Fairways were hit or miss. Some were in great shape and looked rather nice where others had more bare patches or “weeds” than actual grass.
Greens close to the club house were the best on the course but others were very rough in places including mow heights changing on the same green.
In short I will play it again maybe next year as I know things happen but in general right now I will have to pass.
Fun course
Great course for amateurs like me. Not real long but offered a few challenging holes. Plays fast.
