No Water, Terrible Cart Paths
I started at the tee time check in booth after calling for someone for over 5 minutes. no one was home. I had to literally search for some one to check me in. It was extremely odd the the man in the pro shop told me "there are 60 people ahead of you, it going to take all day for you to play." I said 60 people on the front nine, and he no, thats how many are out there since the first tee time. I started at 11a. I just found that very odd for him to try and scare me about the no. of people on the course. as i played, i saw there was no water anywhere to drink, and it was very hot. I said to myself, why in the world and what would it have cost the man in the pro shop to simply tell me there is no water on the course, best get some now if you want to drink. 2 things would been accomplished for few words that costs him nothing to offer. one they sell drinks and water, 2 I know what to expect.
finally, i think i need back surgery riding over the course and cart paths, very, very, very hard bumps everywhere.
Overall a Great Deal
I got a Hot deal for $18 for 18 Holes with a cart and you can’t beat that. Course had some rough spots for sure. Lots of rain definitely affected that so not too mad about that. Worst part of course was definitely the cart paths. Some of them were in really rough shape and some of them just ended without any direction. And the bridges definitely need to be replaced too. Some of them were ROUGH. But overall, for the deal, there isn’t much to complain about. Just a few rough spots here and there. But i would definitely play it again and would recommended it to anyone for that price.
If you don’t mind goat racing
Course is worth about $15 at most weeds everywhere greens were dirt these pictures they have posted have to be from be from years ago. I WOULDNT GO HERE.
Budget friendly
First off, I am a fan of Maples designs. Walked 18 for $20. 8am tee time. Round took 2:45. Didn’t see another person on the course. Front nine has MANY elevation changes, fairways were inconsistent at best. Greens were fairly quick and rolled well. Back nine opens up more like a parkland course, something I have experienced with other Maples courses. Back nine in much better condition than the front. Overall, wasn’t expecting much but for $20 worth it. Dan in the clubhouse was helpful and personable.
Poor maintenance
Course is need Of cash infusion. Cart paths in major disrepair. Bridges, bulkheads needs replacing or upgrading. Staff was very helpful and cordgial.
Very friendly staff
Course condition is good and green is very fast. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Fast and tricky greens. Liked the layout. Fairways need work.
I liked this course layout and the greens were fast and tricky. The condition of the course itself needs updating.
Too good for the price
The green fee was lower than most courses in the area but don’t let that fool you. This course was terrific. The grounds crew does an amazing job. Greens were green and true. Great layout. Super fun course. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. I will definitely come back. A+. I wish they had a driving range to warm up but overall that’s minor.
Ugly course
Words can't describe how much I dislike this course. Cart paths just start and then end and nothing is clearly labeled. A porta potty is a sad excuse for a bathroom. Go to the Country Club of Whispering Pines instead.
Ill give it one more shot
Played here for the first time yesterday, had a 10:00 tee time on a Tuesday so figures it wouldnt be too busy, boy was i wrong. Checked in and was informed there were 5 foursomes ahead of me and 2 twosome right behind me. Finally teed off 10 minutes late after waiting for the group in front of me. I played an agonizingly slow 3 holes waiting on play ahead of me , took 50 minutes to play 3 holes!! The group behind me hit into me on #4 while i was still waiting, at that point i decided to pack it in, went back to the pro shop and they gave me a raincheck without a big hassle, so thats one point in their favor. Maybe it was a rare occurance but they need to manage pace of play better. I really didnt see enough of the course to comment on its layout but the conditions definitely are not worrh what they charge. Greens looked awful but rolled decent, tons of poa everywhere, $35 is definitely too much for this course, 20-25 would seem much mpre reasonable to me.
Good value
Considering it was early March, course conditions were good. Greens were fast, some wet spots in the fairways. Overall a good course for early season warm up
Good course! Played after it rained but still happy.
Guy at the pro shop was really cool in letting our family play together even though we accidentally booked different tee times, greens were fast like very fast which is crazy considering how bad it rained the day before. The layout is good, a lot of rememberable holes and the food at the turn was amazing. Got the barbecue sandwich, wife got the rueben and no complaints. First time was a success.
not worth the money
I’ve played Whispering Woods countless times over the years. The course has a great layout but the course has been in terrible shape this whole year. I’ve played it twice this year ( once in May & in July). Tee boxes weren’t mowed in atleast 3-4 days, 40% of the fairways had major dirt spots, and i was charged $40. After finishing the front 9 I went to the pro shop to get my money back only to find out there is no refunds. Great layout but the course/ staff was poor
Fun course
Great friendly staff! Course layout was perfect and made for a very fun round of golf! Definitely would recommend you checking this course out!
Waste of money
This course was a complete waste of money. Don’t waste your time. They do not even cut the tee boxes, very unprofessional course maintenance. Staff was a joke, save your money and play somewhere else.
