ANYONE THAT PLAYES GOLF
HA PLAYED COURCE ONCE BEFORETOOK 6 OTHER PLAYERS WITH ME THEY ALL ENJOYED IT WHEN WEATHER IS GOOD WE WILL BE BACK BECAUSE COURSE IS GOOD AND THROUGH GOLFNOW PRICE IS RIGHT
This course has brand new greens
This is a fun course to play. The course was in good shape for "winter" conditions. Enough water, elevation changes, and doglegs to keep you entertained and interested. The new Bermuda greens are beautiful and run true. Good value for the money. You won't be disappointed.
New greens, pretty layout.
Good shape, 2 groups let me thru. Great greens(but fast), good fairways and bunkers. Visually pleasing with fun elevations. Friendly shop. Let me off early(big help).
The greens make the course
The course is average in distance but narrow on many holes which requires placement and the greens are lightning fast compared to courses in the area.
new greens were very smooth, but still too firm. Fairways were average for this time of year, should be completely lush and full.
Not bad for an average course in the Pinehurst area. Interesting track with many different types of holes. Scorecard does not match with online scoring software.
Great place to play.
First time on this course. Had a lot of fun discovering this course. It was in great condition. Greens rolled true, but had a few breaks that were fun to read. You have to keep the ball below the hole on the greens or you take a chance of the ball rolling off. That's how fast the greens are. Loved the view & lay out of the course. WE will play it again. Oh, by the way, I scored an eagle on the 1st par five on the front nine. Putted in from off the green. One of the workers mowing the grass saw it go in & gave me a thumbs up. Thanks!
Lost the money for the Reservation
Booked a tee time and upon arrival the GM said he could see the reserved tee time but, did not see any payment. We had to pay for the round of golf after paying online. Course is great but, not satisfied with the way the GM tried to handle getting us on the course without having to pay extra.
My best local course
I've played here before and after the new greens. The new greens are certainly nice, but the staff and accomodations have always been great.
The "New Greens" are extremely fast.
While the new greens are certainly challenging, the back nine still has ground water problems. The widened fairways give the course more visual appeal. The rough is fairly high in many areas making it difficult to find your ball if it strays off the fairway.
Very playable for all handicap's
The coarse is in good shape and getting better every day, greens are excellent! Staff is great.
Course is in excellent condition and fairways are plush. The rough is challenging if you can't stay in the fairways.
Wonderful round of golf at an excellent price. Staff was friendly and the course played as well as any other top rank facility around. Keeping the ball in the fairways is a premium and costly if you don't hit the greens in regulations. Greens roll true and fast. If it looks like a break, play for the break with the right speed or find yourself in the 3 putt club. Watch out for the Goose droppings on the back 9 and enjoy the round.
This course has great features
This was a great coarse for the money. From the time we arrived the staff was very friendly and tended to our every need. The course is in the rebuilding stages and some areas are in need of some attention such as cart paths, but the fairways were in good shape and the new greens where in great shape. I will play this course again. Great vaule and Golfnow price.
Nice layout and the works they put in to improve the course is very evident. The greens were in excellent condition. Great value.
Most people probably remember the course from before the improvements were made. I've played the course in the past and liked the layout but at that time the course was not well maintained. Now the conditions are great and I find the layout challenging and enjoyable.
Whispering Woods is Back!!!!
This course that I had very much enjoyed playing 4+ years ago had fallen off my radar as course conditions had deteriorated.
The takeover by Warrior Golf and subsequent conversions to Bermuda greens along with improved maintenance have made this again into one of the more fun courses in the area to play.
Lost their greens
Played this course on 6/10 and they lost their greens. We played the front 9 only because back was closed for repair. Fairways not mowed nicely like they should but could be from all the rain we had earlier in the week. Greens need a lot of work.
Thanks for playing our course on the 10th. The greens are being replaced this summer so we have been prepping them to remove the grass next week. We apologize for the back 9 closing but had storm damage from Andrea on Friday. We invite you to come back in September when we have all repairs done and see the improvements we will have made for your next round. Thanks
Desperately in need of TLC
The course has a nice layout. I'll acknowledge the course is making improvements, but this is a review of the current playing conditions. They are abysmal.
1. Greens are gone. In fact, the back nine was close as they're trying to bring them back to life.
2. Bunkers...no sand.
3. Cart paths are bumpy and have been damaged by tree roots.
4. Fairways are OK.
The only highlights were the incredible friendly staff.
Just wanted to update you on the changes we've made:
1. Brand new Champions Bermudagrass Greens
2. Filled bunkers with sand
3. Cart paths- renovations planned for 2014
4. Fairways....better
Thanks for the attaboy for the staff.
We hope you can make the trip back to see what we've done!
COME PLAY!!!
First let me apologize for your pace of play on 2/22. The average pace of play at Whispering Woods is generally under 4 hours. I would like to invite you back to give us another try. I am confident that not only will you play at a better pace, but you will recommend our course to all of your friends.
Thank You,
Chris
