The 18-hole Whispering Woods Golf Club in Whispering Pines, North Carolina is a semi-private golf course that opened in 1974. Designed by Dan & Ellis Maples, Whispering Woods Golf Club measures 6324 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 134 and a 70.8 USGA rating.

The semi-private course offers challenges to both the intermediate as well as the accomplished player. The course rambles over undulating terrain which is carefully maintained by the caring staff. Every hole is unique.

We always enjoy playing Whispering Woods or the South course as it was called in the past. Your good course management will pay dividends in the scoring department. The ponds offer golf challenges along with the added beauty and wildlife.

Great Staff

Although this is a short course in todays standards, it is prefect for me. It has a great layout but the fairway on the sides needs work. They have new owners once again, they are planning to put new greens in next year ( although they rate a decent 6 1/2 to 7 right now ). It's too bad that it has had a bad rep over the years. We have to many golf courses in our area ( Pinehurst ) and I know they do not get alot of local play. They need to get a good local base, but we have to many picky players around here and want a prefect course. Finally the staff is Great and friendly and they serve a great dinner.
