Camarillo Springs Golf Course
About
Situated at the base of the Conejo Mountain, Camarillo Springs Golf Course was carefully carved from the mountain's towering rock formations but it gets its name from the scenic water features that can be found throughout. Naturally, water is the primary challenge on this course, coming into play on eleven holes. There are also long par 3s that will require a sharp iron game. The course offers a fair test of your skills but the elevation changes are modest and the player-friendly fairways are wide and forgiving, which make the course more accessible to beginners. The golf course has a memorable start with a par-4 second hole, which is a tricky dogleg left from an elevated tee that features one of the best views on the course. The consistently good course conditions and the affordable rates have garnered Camarillo Springs a strong following among local golfers.

This was a great course. Not anymore. Management does not take care of it. Uneven tee boxes, standing water on the course (over a week after the rain), mud everywhere, bad cart paths.
Played this course because it was the only course to have an open tee time before 1:30pm on a Saturday. Horrible conditions and was still over $50. Avoid and find a different place to play.

At this muni level, it’s perfectly fine.
I don’t understand all the negativity thrown at this place. As far as layout, I love it. Sure the front 9 lakes no longer have water in them. But the holes are interesting and the backdrop is spectacular always, especially when it’s crisp and clear like it was today. And the back 9 is just as tricky as most of the holes have lakes next to them that come into play. Yes Hole 11 has been changed many times, and in its current form it’s a weird little Par 3. But the greens are all mostly good, certainly better than most of the LA city courses, lets say. As far as the “dirt” patches or whatever people complain about - have they played Los Verdes??? That place is the same dirt rough and hardly any grass under the trees type thing - but that place is always packed. Camarillo’s conditions are no different. I have no problems with it. Especially at this price point. I think the GreensKeepers are doing a decent job, all the bunkers had been machine raked today, after the soaking we got yesterday, and the sand was very playable, so I commend them on that. Yes there are dead dirt patches such as down the right side of 16, but again, places like Los Verdes have that on a few holes too.
People are missing out on just being able to play golf, as so many other places are packed - and they’re prepared to pay almost double at Olivas or Rustic and those places are popular because they’re much easier courses. People don’t like Camarillo because it’s too difficult for them so they complain about the conditions.
If Camarillo would charge the same as those other courses, I’m sure they can make this place much better, we all know that. But people aren’t prepared to pay that much.
Hopefully with the rains we’re having finally and a colder winter, that will all help to get the grass growing again.
I’ll be back. I missed the course.
Pleasant surprise
I was a little concerned when I first arrived at the course. However the course ranger filled me in on a few things I should know. After teeing off and playing a few holes, I liked the course. I liked the layout, however there were so areas that were in need of some grass but for the cost of playing and overall, I found it to be quite fair. I would play there again. Dan C, Mr. Sandman…
Camarillo Springs GC
Fair amount of dry spots on the fairways but the greens were in very good condition. Can be challenging if you don’t stay in the fairways. I do like the course.
Poorly managed course
Poorly managed course. water hazard is dried up. range net is all torn apart. you may get hit by the range ball. no jk. started 40 minutes after scheduled tee time for cart
Practice Course
You need to come here knowing that it's not a place to keep score but to practice. Usually pace is pretty open. If you're on a bare patch, just move your ball to some grass. Greens are receptive for practicing approach shots. If you come here to practice, you'll have fun. If you come to keep score, you won't.
Waste of Time and Money
Left the course after 10 holes. Barely any grass to hit from, including tee boxes... mostly uneven dirt. The only good part was the greens. Pace of play was horrible... 2hrs and 45 min for front 9... Marshall sat on his phone and ignored the group that was 3 full holes behind... he was unhelpful... very disappointing partial round
